The role

Become the best version of yourself as a Test Automation Engineer

At Sogeti, you get the space and the trust to become the best version of yourself. As a Test Automation Engineer, you are part of the largest Test Automation community in the Netherlands: a network of driven professionals who strengthen, challenge, and innovate together. Within this community, it is all about progress. You can participate in inspiration sessions and knowledge-sharing moments; here, you not only gain new ideas but also get the stage to share your expertise and vision.

Do you have experience with AI and/or testing AI tooling? Do you see yourself as the AI test automation specialist of the future? Perhaps you specifically want to invest in your communication or leadership skills to make more impact within teams and organizations. Whatever your ambition may be, with our extensive in-house training, you will get every opportunity to work purposefully on your development. In this way, you build not only smart solutions for clients but also a career you can be proud of.

Living and working in Northeast Netherlands

Naturally, we understand how important it is to work in the region where you live, and we strive for that. Professionals in Northeast Netherlands work from our regional office in Groningen. Thanks to remote working and smart client management, we minimize your travel time. This location offers all disciplines under one roof, making it easy for you as a test engineer to brainstorm with colleagues and work on a project basis. Our clients come from various sectors, which ensures diverse projects. As an advocate of hybrid working, we also encourage working from home part of the time. A true Sogetist is a subject matter expert with passion and enjoyment! We are always there for each other, and that leads to the most beautiful results!

Why you make the difference

At our clients, you make an impact as a Test Automation Engineer by improving existing test automation or implementing new test automation. You can excellently advise the client on making test automation sustainable and implementing good technology and feedback loops, because you know what is required for future-proof test automation and what the value of the feedback loop is. Your technical skills ensure that you can build this yourself, but you can also help others with this. Furthermore, you also guide the client and your colleagues through this entire process and can explain what the test results mean for quality and release.

You are proactive and also enjoy following the latest market trends. For example, you might be interested in the use of Gen AI within Test Automation as a supplement to the professional expertise you already possess. Within the Test Automation community, you can brainstorm with colleagues about the opportunities of AI, but you also think critically about the possibilities.

This is how you become the best version of yourself

  • You are part of one of the largest Quality Engineering & Testing divisions in the Netherlands (500+ professionals), where professional expertise, innovation, and embedding quality into every phase are central.
  • You will become part of the largest Test Automation community in the Netherlands, where you are supported by 120 like-minded colleagues who love helping each other grow.
  • Within our vision of Amplified Quality Engineering, we use AI as an amplifier. We invest in tooling, adoption, and development, including our own GenAI solution.
  • In-house training from AI to communication and leadership skills, so that you can develop in a way that suits you. And there are plenty of opportunities to share your expertise with colleagues through knowledge sharing or workshops.
  • Endless development opportunities, whether you grow as a technical expert, a lead, or a People Manager who helps colleagues and teams grow.
  • Participating in inspiring events where you can gain knowledge, share knowledge yourself, build a network, and actively contribute to a field that is constantly in motion.

In addition, you can count on

  • A permanent contract of 32, 36, or 40 hours with a compensation budget up to € 6,950 gross per month incl. holiday allowance and mobility allowance.
  • With us, you can choose the mode of travel that suits you best, such as a lease car (electric), mileage allowance, and you receive an NS-Business Card, or a combination thereof.
  • We motivate an active lifestyle, therefore we also offer a bicycle lease plan via Lease A Bike.
  • 26 vacation days with the option to purchase more, an expense allowance, and an annual bonus from C-Grade.
  • With our Benefits at Work, you get discounts at webshops such as bol.com, HEMA, and Wehkamp, and benefits on activities, electronics, and more.
  • A strong in-house L&D program, an unlimited training budget, and active professional communities where knowledge sharing and growth are central.
  • Space to contribute to a more sustainable future via a sustainability budget and flexible arrangements.
  • Attention to (mental) health, with initiatives such as OpenUp, parenthood training, vitality webinars, and a discount on your sports subscription.
  • Access to inspiring events such as Women@Sogeti and SoPlay, where tech and connection come together.

Your talents and experience

  • You have (at least) HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level.
  • You have experience with 2 or more different test automation tools; this can be low-code test automation (such as Robot Framework) or high-code test automation (such as Cucumber in combination with JavaScript or Java).
  • You can program or are currently learning to do so (preferably JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#).
  • You have strong communication skills, an eye for detail, and are creative in finding solutions.
  • You can guide and coach colleagues, both internally and externally.
  • You have certification for TMAP, ISTQB, Rapid Software Testing (or are willing to obtain this).

With our strong local presence, you work on real projects with impact, always with the support of a dedicated People Manager who thinks along with you about your growth.
