The role

As a Databricks Engineer, you feel completely at home in modern data environments where technology, structure, and collaboration come together. You work with large volumes of data, transform complex information flows into scalable and reliable data solutions, and build the foundations that organizations can trust. You ensure that data is available, secure, and usable, in a form that delivers immediate value for BI, analytics, and AI.

You work within the Databricks stack and build robust data pipelines, Lakehouse architectures, and scalable data layers. Using tools including Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Workflows, you automate and optimize data processing, governance, and management. You understand how data flows through an organization and know how to continuously improve these processes, with attention to performance, reliability, and cost.

At client sites, you are a technical sparring partner who translates complex issues into practical Databricks solutions. You communicate clearly, think along regarding requirements, and advise on the best technical approach. You work intensively with Data Scientists, Data Architects, and business teams. Based on your experience, you also coach junior and medior engineers.

Within Sogeti, you will get all the space to grow in your own way. You can further deepen your expertise in Databricks Lakehouse architecture, CI/CD, data modeling, governance, performance optimization, and automation. You will also get the opportunity to give workshops, mentor colleagues, and contribute to frameworks and initiatives within our data community.

This is how you work on projects that matter and get the space to further increase your craftsmanship and impact.

You make the difference by helping organizations work truly data-driven with Databricks. You build scalable, secure, and future-proof data solutions and ensure that these deliver value in practice. Thanks to your technical insight and solution-oriented approach, you contribute directly to results.

What you'll do

  • Designing and building modern data pipelines and ELT processes in Databricks;
  • Realizing and optimizing Lakehouse architectures with Delta Lake;
  • Developing and optimizing scalable data processing with Apache Spark and SQL;
  • Setting up data layers and data models for BI, analytics, and AI;
  • Ensuring data quality, lineage, reliability, governance, and security using, among others, Unity Catalog;
  • Automating deployments, workflows, monitoring, and management via CI/CD and Databricks Workflows;
  • Aligning with stakeholders and contributing to technical decision-making;
  • Coaching junior and medior engineers.

This is how you become the best version of yourself

  • Working on challenging Databricks projects at organizations throughout the Netherlands;
  • Being part of a strong data community where knowledge sharing is central;
  • Personal guidance via a dedicated People Manager;
  • A strong in-house L&D program and an unlimited training budget;
  • Flexible working options: hybrid or part-time, tailored to your situation.

Your talents and experience

  • Preferably, you speak fluent Dutch at a C1 level.

Do you recognize yourself in our way of working, but do not (yet) possess all the knowledge? Feel free to respond: we would rather look at your mindset and growth potential than at a perfect checklist.
