The role
At Bit, we build solutions with the latest technology for organizations that want to stay ahead. Before our tech talents can get to work, something else must happen first: reaching the right organizations, understanding what is happening, and discovering where the latest technology can make a difference.
Our commercial process is set, our legacy is great, and we are ready to turn quantity into quality. Niels handles the outreach, pipeline management, and the qualification from MQL to SQL. The rest of the Client Development team brings the deals across the finish line. Together with Bit Studio, we translate client questions into projects in which we push the status quo.
And we need you for that. As a Business Developer, you will strengthen the front end of our commercial process. You bring new energy and commercial impact, open doors at organizations where we are not yet at the table, and build upon existing relationships. You will get the freedom to discover opportunities, test new approaches, and directly influence the growth of Bit.
You will join an environment where commerce, technology, and innovation converge. Where we don't talk endlessly about what is possible, but together discover what works. We do this, among other things, through workshops in which we delve into client issues and events where we inspire decision-makers and strengthen relationships. Your success lies not only in the conversations you have, but especially in the opportunities you create and advance.
Your role
What you'll do
Outreach that opens doors. You develop and run multichannel campaigns for specific target groups, propositions, and use cases. From cold acquisition to activating warm leads and existing relationships. You work on volume, without losing the personal touch.
From conversation to concrete opportunity. You speak with directors and decision-makers without making yourself small, ask sharp questions, and dare to conclude if there is no match. Do you see potential? Then you sell a workshop to further explore the issue and work together with Bit Studio towards concrete use cases and next steps.
Events that strengthen relationships. From your client conversations, you know what is happening and what your leads need. You personally invite them to relevant events, ensure the right people are present, and translate the inspiration gained into concrete commercial opportunities.
Opportunities ready for the next step. You qualify leads and map out the most important stakeholders, challenges, and possible use cases. This way, you hand over opportunities well-prepared to the Client Development team, and together you build a strong pipeline.
Requirements
🧠 What you bring
2–5 years of experience in sales, business development, or a similar commercial role, preferably in a B2B or tech context;
You are curious about technology. You don't need to be able to build, but you do need to be able to explain why a new technique changes something for *this* client;
You feel at ease at the table with C-level and management;
You keep your data in order and tackle what is there: an event that needs to be full, a list that needs cleaning, a deck that needs finishing. You do not wait for someone to ask;
You drive volume and sustain it. Conducting fifty conversations to get five good ones out of them is logical work to you;
You enjoy automating your work smartly and "agentifying" it;
You speak and write fluently in Dutch and English.

About Bit
In their own words
About the company & team
About Bit
Companies find it impossible to keep up with current lightning-fast technological developments. Meanwhile, young professionals who have been programming for years are leading the way when it comes to things like Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and other new emerging technologies. For that reason, Bit was founded 10 years ago. We are a Research & Prototyping studio that lets clients stay ahead of the competition by being the very first to deploy new technologies.
At this moment, Bit consists of 45 of the best AI, Design, and Computer Science young professionals from Amsterdam and the surrounding area. We research and build the very latest technologies for clients such as Schiphol, Rituals, UWV, and Talpa Network. As an extension of in-house R&D departments, we ensure companies become frontrunners.
In addition to the unique proposition, an ironclad culture is also one of the secrets behind Bit's rapid growth. A down-to-earth, informal atmosphere where everyone is an equal part of the success ensures a tight-knit team in which everyone supports each other and brings out the best in others.
When you start with us, you are immediately part of the team. We promise you an environment where you receive responsibility, trust, and freedom. What we ask in return is performance, passion, and enjoyment. Culture is #1 for us. That is why we find it important that you can identify with our core values:
🧠 We lead, we learn
👨👩👧👦 Team first
🚀 Pushing status quo
At our office at Science Park in Amsterdam, in the new and sustainable Matrix One building, you will find yourself in the midst of innovation and new technology. We value collaborating in the office and also offer the flexibility of working from home. Client visits and events form an important part of your role.
At Bit, we celebrate difference. After all, the best ideas arise from a diversity of thoughts. That is why we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply. If you meet the job description, you will receive full and equal attention for the role, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
