  • A salary, depending on your knowledge and experience, between €3,546.- and €5,395.- (FWG 50) based on 40 hours per week;

The role

As a Cataract Operating Room Assistant, you know how important calm, precision, and teamwork are for a smooth operative process. This helps you maintain oversight not only in the operating room but also outside of it.

As a Cataract Operating Room Assistant within our eye clinic in Lelystad, you play an important role in providing high-quality eye care. You guide clients during their treatment for cataracts and support the entire operative process. Thanks to your expertise, accuracy, and personal approach, eye surgeries proceed safely, efficiently, and according to the highest quality standards.

What you'll do

  • You check the surgical program and ensure that all necessary materials and instruments are available.

  • You check client data and ensure that files are complete and correct.

  • You perform instrumenting and circulating during ophthalmic procedures, including cataract surgeries.

  • You guide clients prior to surgery and inform them about the course of the treatment and aftercare.

  • You ensure the correct processing and disposal of used materials and instruments.

How you'll work

You will be working at our eye clinic in Lelystad. Here, you will work together with a close-knit and committed team, including operating room assistants, anesthesia nurses, patient guides, and an OR logistics worker.

Mutual cooperation is strong. Colleagues help each other where necessary, communicate openly with one another, and are willing to stand by each other. Cooperation with the ophthalmologists is also very accessible. The lines are short, allowing for quick switching and ensuring everyone's expertise is utilized optimally.

Within the clinic, cataract surgeries, eyelid corrections, intravitreal injections (IVIs), and other ophthalmic procedures are performed, among others. As a result, you work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.
