Give attention to what you truly find important and thus make a difference. BDO Digital Technology Services (DTS), the IT department, is the place where you do this together with your colleagues. This gives you the space to actually make an impact with your expertise. Together with your colleagues, you work on a secure, reliable, and future-proof IT environment. As a (Medior) Cyber Security Specialist, you take a leading role in this. You not only monitor the security of our environment but also actively contribute to the further development of our security strategy and the maturity of information security within BDO.

Furthermore, you use your experience and proactive attitude to interpret technical risks and complex security issues and translate them into concrete, achievable, and future-proof solutions. You are an important subject matter expert for complex security issues and, where necessary, take the lead in this. In doing so, you look beyond individual security alerts and incidents: you recognize underlying risks and patterns, assess the impact on our organization, and translate these into structural improvements within our IT landscape.

You actively follow developments within the cybersecurity landscape and know how to independently assess new threats, vulnerabilities, laws and regulations, and security advisories for relevance and impact on our organization. You then make the translation to concrete security measures, technical improvements, and advice for our cloud and IT environment. In addition, you think along about the design and further development of security within the IT landscape and, based on your expertise, contribute to the further professionalization of our security measures.

You advise technical teams and management based on a clear risk assessment and know how to communicate complex security topics in an understandable and convincing manner. In this, you work closely with the Security Lead and other stakeholders and, based on your subject matter expertise, provide input for strategic choices, architecture, and prioritization.

You look beyond the daily operations.

1. Based on your extensive experience, you proactively identify risks and opportunities for improvement and contribute to choices at a tactical and strategic level.
2. You independently perform complex security assessments for new services, applications, and technologies and ensure that security is included from the design phase.
3. In doing so, you work closely with architecture, platform, and development teams and stimulate the application of security-by-design.
4. You also actively share your knowledge, mentor less experienced colleagues, and help bring the security team as a whole to a higher level.
