At ASN Bank, you contribute to the core of our financial activities. As a DEVOPS Engineer in our SAS Techleads team, your focus lies primarily on the development of critical systems that enable banking for our customers. Your technical solutions are crucial for the secure and efficient management of our banking systems.

Primarily, you will help build our core system. This system is the front-end of our banking system. It has more than 3000 screens and calls a similar number of transactions on our backend system. To make this scale possible, the application consists of a framework and a custom-built development environment. This makes use of Eclipse and Maven plugins and a repository in which the application definitions are stored. The application itself is built using a framework where the business logic is programmed in JAVA, while the framework provides the presentation layer in HTML, CSS, and Javascript and data storage in an MS-SQLServer database. Furthermore, it offers all transactions from our backend system as REST services. It will be your task to maintain this framework and support the programmers who build functionality with the framework. Additionally, you may be asked to help with the maintenance and management of other Java applications that we manage. You will work together with 3 other DEVOPS engineers. Together, you are responsible for the necessary code changes and release activities. Furthermore, you will work on a rotational basis on standby to assist administrators during production disruptions.

You can collaborate well but are not afraid to take the lead. You are a committed colleague with a great sense of responsibility and initiative. You are enthusiastic about getting to know the workings of the application, the framework, and the platform well. You see a challenge in solving difficult technical problems and are willing and able to familiarize yourself with new applications and the framework. Furthermore, you are good at abstract thinking. You do not need to be an expert in the financial sector yet—you will learn that with us—but your DevOps toolbox is already well-stocked.
