For AniCura Hoogvliet, we are looking for a head veterinarian who combines personal responsibility with guiding and inspiring fellow veterinarians. You will be given the space to apply your experience, further expand your own interests, and contribute to the quality of care as well as the development of the team.

Your role: working independently and helping others progress

As head veterinarian, you will combine your own duties as a veterinarian with an important role in the professional development of your colleagues. You are an experienced sparring partner, think along about the quality of care, and help fellow veterinarians further develop their knowledge and skills.

You will be given the space to apply your knowledge and interests in a way that suits you. Perhaps your strength lies in primary care consultations, surgery, or dentistry, or perhaps you are interested in a different discipline. You can further expand your expertise and share it with colleagues, so that they too can further develop and make optimal use of their talents.

• Performing primary care consultations and treatments, matching your experience and interests.

• Guiding and coaching fellow veterinarians, so they can further develop their knowledge and skills.

• Sharing your expertise in areas such as diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry.

• Stimulating knowledge sharing and professional consultation within the team.

• Thinking along about the quality of care and the further development of the clinic.

You do not need to be an expert in everything. We are primarily looking for someone who enjoys the profession, likes sharing knowledge, and enjoys helping others. At the same time, you will be given the space to continue learning and to further develop yourself.

A valuable part of our activities is the collaboration with the animal shelter in Spijkenisse. Every week, one of our veterinarians holds consultation hours there. This provides varied caseloads and offers the opportunity to make a difference for animals in the shelter as well.

The position is available for 24 hours per week. Other hours are negotiable.

Our clinic is located in Hoogvliet, municipality of Rotterdam, and thanks to its favorable location near the highway, it is easily accessible for clients from the entire region.

You will join a close-knit team of three veterinarians and seven veterinary nurses. We work closely together and believe it is important that everyone feels comfortable and is given the space to further develop themselves. Our veterinarians already have several years of experience and would like to further deepen and broaden their knowledge and skills.

The clinic possesses good facilities for daily primary care, including possibilities for imaging, dentistry, and surgery. Additionally, we work closely with other AniCura clinics, allowing us to exchange knowledge and, where necessary, brainstorm with colleagues and specialists.

• Have years of experience within primary veterinary medicine and can work independently.

• Enjoy guiding, coaching, and transferring knowledge to fellow veterinarians.

• Have interest in one or more fields, such as surgery, dentistry, or diagnostics, and enjoy sharing your knowledge in these areas.

• Like to think along about the quality of care and the further development of the clinic.

• Are open to consultation and feedback and enjoy collaborating.

• Are communicatively strong and contribute to a positive, collegial working atmosphere.

• Show initiative and take responsibility.

• Preferably live in the region.
