The role
Can you combine safety with calmness, knowledge of people, and a sharp sense of what is happening?
As a care security officer at Almata, you work in an environment that is never the same from one day to the next. Almata offers JeugdzorgPlus to young people for whom lighter forms of assistance are not sufficient. This requires from you not only alertness and decisiveness, but also patience, empathy, and the ability to sense situations well.
DeltaSafe provides 24-hour security at this location. From the central post, you and your colleagues maintain an overview of what is happening on the premises. You have contact with young people, supervisors, family, visitors, and external caregivers, and you also know when to act professionally if a situation suddenly escalates.
What you'll do
From the central post, you supervise everyone entering and leaving the premises and monitor what is happening on the grounds via camera footage. Additionally, you handle telephone and reception duties. During busy moments, visitors, phone calls, and other inquiries arrive simultaneously. You maintain the overview and ensure that everything is managed properly.
In the event of emergencies, you have an important supporting and coordinating role. During the day, the group leaders take charge regarding the young people. During night shifts, you support them when they need to intervene during an emergency. A young person may also arrive during the night via an emergency placement. You help ensure that this proceeds calmly and safely.
In this environment, you may encounter aggressive behavior or self-harm. You know when to act, but you also know the limits of your role: decisions regarding the young people are made by the group leaders. In a crisis, you ensure the correct lines of communication are established and call in external help where necessary. You also handle confidential situations with care, for example, regarding secret placements of young people.
