Every day, thousands of people drive through intersections with traffic lights. But before such an installation works properly, a lot is organized behind the scenes. And that is where you come into the picture.

As Project Leader Traffic Control Systems (VRI), you ensure that traffic control systems are properly realized from design to delivery. You switch between technology, people, and clients, while keeping a sharp eye on planning, quality, and budget.

In short: you ensure that the project runs and that the traffic lights will soon do what they are supposed to do.

From a new intersection to the replacement or modernization of existing traffic lights: you are in control.

You work together with engineers, work preparers, site managers, and technicians, and you ensure that everyone knows what needs to be done. At the same time, you are an important interlocutor for municipalities, provinces, and other clients.

Your duties:

• You lead projects involving traffic control systems from A to Z.
• You manage engineers, work preparers, site managers, and technicians.
• You monitor planning, budget, quality, and safety.
• You coordinate activities with municipalities, provinces, road authorities, and other involved parties.
• You ensure that design, preparation, and execution align well with each other.
• You keep clients informed and ensure that agreements are met.
• You identify risks and bottlenecks before they become problems.
• You think along regarding technical solutions and improvements.
• Together with the team, you ensure a successful delivery.

You don't have to tinker with every traffic light installation yourself. However, you must understand what it involves. You are the one who maintains the overview, brings the right people together, and ensures that the project moves forward.

You have:

• HBO (Higher Professional Education) level of working and thinking.
• A technical education, preferably in Electrical Engineering or similar.
• At least 3 years of experience as a project leader within infrastructure or electrical engineering.
• Experience with traffic control systems is a plus.
• Affinity with traffic lights, electrical engineering, and public space.
• Experience in managing different disciplines and external parties.
• Knowledge of UAV(-GC), RAW, and VCA-VOL is a plus.
• A practical attitude and good communication skills.
