Your growth and development are a top priority for us; therefore, you will be given the space to follow both internal and external training and education. What else you receive based on full-time employment:
- A good salary between € 2,855.- and € 4,390.- gross per month based on 40 hours per week, matching your knowledge and experience;
- The possibility to grow into the position of head technician in the long term, with a salary of up to € 4,706.-;
- Living and working in the region: you work on projects from your own branch, with the possibility to support colleagues in other regions;
- 25 vacation days and 13 ADV days;
- A good pension scheme via PMT;
- All facilities to do your job well, such as a work van, mobile phone, and laptop.
The role
Working outdoors, applying technology in practice, and seeing what you have achieved at the end of the day. As a public lighting technician at SWARCO, you ensure that lighting in residential areas, along roads, and on industrial estates functions safely and reliably. One day you are working with a crew to replace a complete lighting installation, the next day you are independently resolving a fault. It is precisely that variety that makes this work so attractive.
What you'll do
As a public lighting technician, you work on the installation, replacement, maintenance, and troubleshooting of public lighting installations. You replace light poles and luminaires, make connections to the low-voltage grid, install cable joints, and manage the electrotechnical connection of installations. Additionally, you troubleshoot faults, perform diagnoses, and carry out repairs on components such as light sources, drivers, and luminaires.
You work based on drawings, work instructions, and safety regulations, but you also assess the situation on-site yourself. Using your professional knowledge, you determine which activities are necessary and how they can be carried out safely and carefully. In doing so, you work on both the underground infrastructure and the installations above ground.
Depending on the project, you work independently or together with a fixed crew of colleagues and subcontractors, such as groundworkers, machine operators, and drivers with a crane truck. You coordinate the activities with the site manager or service coordinator and ensure that the work is carried out efficiently and according to plan.
The projects and activities are diverse. One time you are working for an extended period on the replacement of hundreds of light poles within a municipality. Another time you are involved in a reconstruction project or resolving a fault that requires technical insight and a practical approach. No two days are the same, but the goal remains the same: ensuring safe and well-functioning public lighting.
You work from a fixed location on projects and maintenance work in the surrounding region. As a result, you get to know the installations, clients, and environment well, and you see the result of your work in the public space every day. Thanks to your craftsmanship, people can live, work, and travel safely.
Who we are looking for
Realizing something outdoors together and seeing what stands there at the end of the day: that is what gives you satisfaction. You know your trade, work accurately, and take responsibility for the quality and safety of your work. You can tackle a task independently and seek collaboration with other people in the crew just as easily.
You communicate clearly and coordinate your activities well with others. In doing so, you look beyond your own connection: you keep an eye on what is happening around you and what that means for safe execution. If things go differently than expected, you are practically minded and think along for a suitable solution. Furthermore:
