What we're looking for

As HbR, we embrace the Zero Trust philosophy; for that reason, you have in-depth knowledge of Zero Trust and know how to apply this knowledge to effective measures within network and cloud solutions where possible.
In addition to generic knowledge and experience with infrastructure within complex IT/OT environments, you are familiar with Zero Trust concepts such as SASE and ZTNA connectivity.
You have a well-developed sense for complex security issues and know how to translate and communicate these on a risk-based approach to network and cloud teams.
Excellent command of the Dutch language.
You possess at least a demonstrable HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level, preferably in the direction of Information Security or Business Informatics.
You have a demonstrable minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role in a complex environment and the ambition to further develop within your field, demonstrated by relevant certificates.
You possess knowledge and experience regarding the follow-up of security incidents and are willing to participate in an on-call service.

The role

Do you want to apply your security expertise in a place where it truly matters? At an organization that plays a crucial role in the European economy, you will work on the front line of information security within a complex IT landscape. You are the one providing direction, drafting policy, and testing implementation—not the one turning the knobs. In an environment where Agile and DevOps are the norm, you ensure that security is included from the start and continuously improved.

You will get the chance to actively shape the Zero Trust philosophy and play a leading role in the secure design of our network of the future. With your strategic insight and up-to-date knowledge of threats, you ensure that our IT environments are not only secure but also remain resilient against what is to come.

What you'll do

No one can fool you regarding the security of a network or Windows environment, but you know how to maintain self-control so that you keep an overview. Let someone else handle the controls, so that you can draft policy and test its implementation. You work from a second-line role: substantive knowledge is essential, but you are not the one performing the direct execution—you are the one providing direction, monitoring, and ensuring compliance.

As Cyber Security & Risk Officer - Network & IAM, you are an indispensable link within our teams responsible for Generic IT Services. You are responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our workstations, firewalls, connectivity, and Azure Cloud environment. You work closely with our Network, IAM, and Workplace teams to develop and implement security strategies that meet the highest standards.

You operate in a dynamic environment in which we mostly work according to Agile and DevOps principles. This means you switch gears quickly, think along in sprints, and ensure security in a continuously evolving infrastructure. Through your strategic insight and practical approach, you ensure that security measures are not only complied with but also constantly optimized.

Together with the team, you are committed to keeping our organization's digital infrastructure secure and taking it to a higher level, while staying informed about the latest threats and trends within your field.

What do we offer you?

An integrity check, a security screening, and an online screening are part of the selection procedure.

What do we ask of you?

We are looking for a security expert with vision, who not only possesses sharp insight into information security but is also technically skilled and can communicate well with both teams and stakeholders. You bring the following:

Customer orientation: You can easily put yourself in the customer's shoes. You maintain a dialogue with the customer and are clear about mutual (realistic) expectations and the state of affairs. You understand that you represent the Port Authority and behave accordingly.
Influencing: You are able to summarize the messages of others well. You adapt your story and argumentation to the level and interest of your interlocutor. You are enthusiastic and use engaging examples and arguments. Additionally, you are alert to the reactions and emotions of others during conversations.
Result orientation: You oversee the situation and know what needs to happen at that moment. You do not wait, but take initiative and get actively to work. You work efficiently and accurately, focusing on preventing errors to achieve the set goals.
Problem-solving ability: You assess information for completeness and reliability. You analyze a large amount of information to identify possible causes of a problem. With your expertise and experience, you are able to oversee the possible consequences and identify critical points. You are open to new ideas and utilize them to further strengthen your problem-solving ability.
