Advise the directors shaping the future of the Dutch pension sector

The Dutch pension sector is in the midst of one of the largest transitions in its history. New pension schemes, increasing regulation, digitalization, cyber risks, ESG, governance, and the growing role of data demand fundamental choices from pension boards. For these issues, we are looking for an experienced advisor who looks beyond risk management alone. Someone who helps directors provide direction, makes complex trade-offs transparent, and actively contributes to the further professionalization of the sector.

As a Senior Consultant Risk Management & Investments at Ortec Finance, you will get the opportunity to work at the highest executive level within the Dutch pension world. You will advise directors, risk committees, and key function holders on issues that directly influence the financial security of millions of Dutch people. This is a role for professionals who want to deploy their expertise where it makes the most difference.

You are a strategic sparring partner for directors and management teams of pension funds. You support them in making complex choices in the areas of:

• Integrated risk management;

• Asset management;

• Governance;

• Operational resilience;

• Digitalization and technology;

• Data-driven decision-making;

• Laws and regulations.

You help organizations not only to identify risks, but also to determine direction in an increasingly complex environment. In doing so, you will receive plenty of space to make your expertise and vision visible within the sector. Your activities consist of, among other things:

• Advising pension boards and committees on strategic risk and investment issues;

• Acting as a trusted advisor for key function holders, directors, and management boards;

• Guiding pension funds in the further design of their governance and risk frameworks;

• Advising on current themes such as DORA, cyber resilience;

• Outsourcing risks and the new pension system;

• Developing new insights, propositions, and market initiatives;

• Contributing to publications, webinars, round tables, and other thought leadership activities.

An example of how your week could look? Well, on Monday you discuss the strategic implications of new regulations for the risk management framework with a pension board. On Tuesday, you guide a session with a risk committee on operational resilience and cyber risks. On Wednesday, you work together with colleagues on a vision paper regarding developments within the pension sector. On Thursday, you discuss with a potential client how better governance and data-driven decision-making can contribute to future-proof pension execution. And on Friday, you share insights during an internal knowledge session or present new developments to colleagues during the Friday Live. Every week is different, but always substantively challenging and socially relevant.
