Grading Operator

For our factory in Bergen op Zoom, we are looking for a:

Grading operator

Grading relates to receiving, unloading, cleaning (separating potatoes from foliage, stones, clay, removing defects), sorting (length/diameter) and finally bunkering potatoes. The integral process takes place using various installations/machines and is fully automated. Based on the quality of potato batches, you, as a grading operator, advise on the composition (blend) of the potato batches to be processed in order to achieve the desired quality for the products to be manufactured. You report to the Supervisor. The position is performed in a 5-shift rotation, which also includes working on weekends.

• You coordinate ongoing matters and specific details to ensure a smooth handover during shift changes;
• You are responsible for coordinating the potato batches to be processed;
• You ensure that the installations are correctly set up and configured and that they are hygienically in order;
• You are responsible for regulating and maintaining control of the process in your department;
• You perform quality controls and, based on these, you make adjustments where necessary;
• Together with your colleagues, including those from other departments, you strive for optimal results;
• You see where things can be improved and therefore take initiative;
• You perform cleaning tasks and ensure that your department is always kept tidy.

• You are enthusiastic, eager to learn, and you are not afraid of hard work;
• You possess a completed (operator) education at MBO level 3 or 4, or you are willing to undergo this training;
• You are able to work both independently and in a team, are socially skilled, flexible, and have a hands-on mentality.
