The role

All sorts of products from different departments must be placed in a single customer's crate as efficiently as possible. That is a puzzle that you, as an inventory optimization specialist, enjoy solving together with your colleagues. For example, you design the order pickers' route so that the soft drink does not come after the chips. Instead, that one-and-a-half-liter bottle of soft drink goes into the crate first. And the customer doesn't end up with a bag of crushed chips.

You maintain the overview in the warehouse. You look at which products are coming in and what is being ordered by customers. Are there products not in stock according to the system? Then you check if the product will arrive later and you ensure that stock is checked. Furthermore, you ensure that order picking happens as smoothly as possible. You optimize the route that the order pickers travel, so they can collect the order as quickly as possible. If there is a problem with, for example, a product barcode, you also ensure that this is resolved. You also do not mind having varying working hours. During the week or on the weekend, early in the morning, in the evening, it doesn't matter to you.

In addition to your regular duties, you are always busy improving the process. For example, you contribute to a project to see how new trolleys can be deployed in the warehouse. Or how the current trolleys can be used more efficiently. You ensure that order picking runs optimally by:

What you'll do

  • Optimizing the picking route.
  • Monitoring an accurate stock level.
  • Using warehouse space as efficiently as possible.
  • Transferring your knowledge to colleagues.
  • Contributing to improvement projects.

Together, entrepreneurship, and winning

, that is our Jumbo DNA, and as an inventory optimization specialist, you add even more to it. How? Despite the fact that you do not see the customer, you are still customer-oriented. You also pass this on to your colleagues. Furthermore, you not only optimize current processes, you also always look at how things can be better. After all, you have the best view of the bottlenecks in the working method. You flag these proactively. Based on your own observations, you look for points of improvement and devise ways to tackle them. Once you have devised how you are going to change something, you also know how to clearly communicate the new working method to your colleagues. And to complete the whole package, you have:
