Junior Brand Buyer

• You have at least HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level with 5 to 7 years of work experience, or WO (university) working and thinking level with 2 to 5 years of work experience within Procurement in a retail, FMCG, and/or food environment;

• You have excellent communication and negotiation skills. You master the Dutch and English languages in both speech and writing;
• You are decisive, possess persuasiveness, and have courage.
• You have the will to do things better every day. You are critical and curious, and you keep your knowledge of suppliers and products up to date.
• You dare to be vulnerable and are honest, transparent, and straightforward.

• A gross salary between €4,500 and €5,800 per month (based on 40 hours).
• An annual bonus of up to 5% of your annual salary based on organizational objectives.
• 30 vacation days (with the possibility to buy or sell vacation days) and 8% holiday allowance. You build up a pension through participation in the Bedrijfstakpensioenfonds voor het Levensmiddelenbedrijf (Industry Pension Fund for the Food Industry).
• An allowance for your travel expenses (€ 0.21 cents per kilometer with a max. of 35 kilometers one way). We like to work together in the office, but you can also work partly from home.

• As a Brand Buyer, you are responsible for sourcing, developing, selecting, managing, and monitoring contractual agreements with brand suppliers. Your goal is to achieve consistent quality with minimal risks, required availability, and sustainability. Additionally, you ensure that this aligns with external developments and the commercial objectives of your category.
• Together with your team, you ensure the drafting of a multi-year procurement plan for your category.
• You build and maintain strong internal and external networks for brand procurement.
• You strive for optimal procurement conditions, minimal risks, and an improvement of Jumbo's procurement position.
• You manage a category along with your own supplier responsibility. In an 'average week', you negotiate (annual) contracts within agreed procurement guidelines and procedures. With your influencing skills and persuasiveness, you know how to convince suppliers in a way that extends beyond just the content.
• Additionally, you initiate opportunities for improvement in procurement processes, policies, and guidelines. You proactively look for opportunities in the market within your category and contribute to their implementation.

You will become part of the Commercial department, which consists of five clusters. As a Junior Brand Buyer, you will strengthen the brand procurement team within the Drinks & Care cluster. A team that works daily on an attractive assortment and is always looking for ways to do things just a little bit better for our customers. In this role, Alex Stumphius (Lead Buyer), will be your manager.
