What we're looking for

  • MBO Security education with at least 1 year of operational work experience at the airport;

  • Experience with X-ray equipment:

  • Good knowledge of the Dutch and English languages (spoken and written);

  • Stress resistance and alertness

  • Training or willingness to obtain HBS certification

The role

Every suitcase that goes into the aircraft first passes through you. As a Hold Baggage Screening (HBS) Airport Security Officer, you are the silent force behind a safe flight. With your sharp eye and alertness, you prevent unwanted materials from boarding and ensure that thousands of passengers can travel with peace of mind every day.

What you'll do

Your Work: Precise and alert

As a specialized airport security officer with a Hold Baggage Screening (HBS) qualification, you inspect all hold baggage before it enters the aircraft. These are not just suitcases, but also:

  • "Odd size" baggage such as surfboards, bicycles, and large sports equipment,

  • (Pet) animals and special shipments,

  • Other deviating and special goods/baggage traveling in the hold,

You work with advanced security systems within a layered control process. You know how to quickly recognize deviations and act according to strict security procedures.

In case of specifics, you work closely with:

  • Schiphol airport,

  • The airline handler,

  • The Royal Marechaussee,

  • The Customs,

  • Other security services at the airport,

You are therefore an indispensable link in the total security chain at the airport.

As a Hold Baggage Screening Airport Security Officer, you are responsible for:

  • Inspecting all hold baggage using the X-Ray system, "ETD" tools, manually and/or visually.

  • Identifying and assessing security and safety risks

  • Applying security procedures in case of deviations

  • Collaborating with aviation partners and government services, and supporting departments (e.g.; cleaners, technical service)

What do we offer you?

  • A starting salary between €17.84  and €19.88 per hour excluding allowances; (based on 36 hours)

  • A one-year contract immediately with a view to a permanent contract;
