IT Operations Manager

• A relevant completed education at HBO or WO level
• At least 3 years of demonstrable work experience in a leadership role within IT Operations, preferably in the retail industry.
• Experience with retail processes is a plus
• Experience with supplier and contract management
• Strategic vision in your own field
• Strong analytical skills, numerical insight, and experience with data-driven working
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to motivate people and implement changes

• Developing a vision for IT Operations from which IT projects are realized from planning to implementation.

• Leading the IT Operations department and ensuring the development of the team.
• Negotiating and creating support among internal and external stakeholders to align IT activities with broader organizational objectives.
• Following and analyzing trends, market developments, and customer information, and proactively translating these into (strategic) actions.

Hubo is THE hardware store of the Netherlands, featuring not only a wide assortment of products for DIY projects in and around the home but also a spot-on custom proposition. We measure, manufacture, and install built-in cabinets, doors, insect screens, sun protection, stair coverings, flooring, etc., at your home.

You will join EK DIY, a business unit of EK Nederland. DGN Retail B.V., also a subsidiary of EK Nederland, falls under EK DIY. DGN Retail is the franchisor for the Hubo brand and offers its affiliated entrepreneurs a complete package of services in the areas of Purchasing, Marketing, ICT, Finance, Social Media, and training.

In the Dutch market, EK is active with the divisions EK Fashion, EK Living, EK DIY, EK Sport, and EK Books. It collaborates with approximately 1,500 independent entrepreneurs and franchisees. In total, they run nearly 2,200 stores in the living, fashion, sport, DIY, and books sectors. The core activities of EK are retail services, franchising, wholesale, and financial services to independent entrepreneurs. At EK Nederland*, about 300 people work with great passion to take as much work as possible off our entrepreneurs' hands, both in their stores and online.

As IT Operations Manager, you are...

responsible for store automation, IT applications, Cybersecurity, AI, and Data within the EK DIY business unit. Your responsibility is to arrange, coordinate, and optimize this for the 270 stores belonging to the Hubo, Decorette, and our purchasing member brands, but certainly also internally at our service office. Within this, you are free to develop your own vision that fits into the overall strategy of the business unit. This, combined with the fact that you have budget responsibility, gives you a large mandate and impact to take our business unit to a higher level in the IT field. In this role, you are also part of the Management Team of the business unit.
