· Completed HBO (higher professional education) or WO (university) degree, preferably in a technical or business administration direction.
· At least 3 years of experience in a similar role (for example, Buyer, Procurement Specialist, or Procurement Advisor).
· Demonstrable experience with tendering and procurement processes.
· Excellent communication skills, in both Dutch and English (verbal and written).
· Proactive attitude, strong analytical skills, and focused on collaboration.

Gate terminal (Gas Access to Europe) is the LNG import and distribution hub of Northwest Europe. From our modern terminal on the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam, we provide safe, reliable, and efficient access to liquefied natural gas (LNG). As a Buyer at Gate terminal, you will play a key role within our procurement department. You are responsible for the entire procurement process: from drafting and executing tenders to contracting suppliers and monitoring agreements made. You will work closely with technical colleagues and project teams, ensuring all procurement processes align seamlessly with the needs of the organization.
Additionally, you are an important interlocutor for external suppliers and internal stakeholders. You switch smoothly between strategic consultation and operational execution.
Tasks and responsibilities
· Preparing, guiding, and executing (European/global) tenders and procurement processes.
· Negotiating with suppliers regarding price, quality, and contract terms.
· Drafting, managing, and monitoring procurement contracts.
· Identifying market developments and advising management.
· Collaborating with colleagues from technical and operational departments to clearly define procurement needs.
