The role

Help build the future of existing homes and a new business within Dura Vermeer Bouw & Vastgoed Amsterdam.

New construction is beautiful. But the greatest societal challenge is already all around us. The Netherlands faces an enormous sustainability and renovation task. Tens of thousands of homes must be improved, made more sustainable, and future-proofed in the coming years. That is why we are building a new value stream within Dura Vermeer Bouw & Vastgoed Amsterdam: Renovation.

And that is why we need you. Are you an experienced engineer who gets energy from complex renovation projects? Someone who sees opportunities where others see obstacles? Then you will get the unique opportunity with us to not only prepare projects, but also actively help build a growing renovation organization within one of the largest construction companies in the Netherlands.

This will be your job

What you'll do

As a construction planner for renovation, you are the engine behind our projects. From the initial planning stage to the final delivery, you ensure that everything is correct. You will work on large-scale renovation and sustainability projects in the Amsterdam region. Projects where homes are being made more sustainable, improved, and prepared for the future. Sometimes in an uninhabited state, but often while residents are simply at home. That makes your work challenging. Because no existing building is the same. You are the one who understands technical issues, makes risks visible in advance, devises smart solutions, and ensures that execution teams can build without problems on-site.

Additionally:

  • You draw up schedules and monitor your progress, quality, safety, and costs;

  • You prepare procurement and maintain your contacts with suppliers and subcontractors;

  • You focus on manufacturability and feasibility;

  • You translate existing situations into a clear execution plan;

  • You work closely with project managers, site managers, resident coordinators, and clients;

  • You actively contribute ideas regarding process improvements and innovations within our new renovation organization.

In short: you are not just an engineer, but an important sparring partner within the project team.

More than a job: help build our new Renovation value stream

Are you looking for a position in which you not only prepare and engineer projects, but also truly have influence on how we organize them? Then we would love to offer you that opportunity. Our Renovation value stream is fully in development. This means we are not only looking for a good construction planner/engineer, but also for someone who enjoys thinking along, taking initiative, and building something new together with us. From your daily practice, you see where processes can be smarter, where collaboration can be better, and which working methods truly work in renovation. We want to utilize that experience and those ideas in the further development of our approach and our team.

So, you are not stepping into a fully developed organization where everything has already been thought out. Instead, you will get the space to help build, to further develop yourself, and to leave your own mark on the future of Renovation.

This is where you belong

This is what you bring

  • A higher professional education (HBO) degree in Civil Engineering or a similar study;

  • At least 5 years of experience as a construction planner or engineer within renovation, maintenance, or residential construction;

  • Experience with complex construction processes;

  • Knowledge of BIM in renovation and digital construction processes;

  • A proactive and entrepreneurial attitude;

  • An eye for quality, planning, and collaboration;

  • Knowledge of AI is a plus.

You are someone who gets energy from complex technical challenges and switches easily between the office, the construction site, and the client.

This is what we offer you

  • The salary for this position for a medior profile is between € 4,291.63 and € 6,256.72 gross per month (based on 40 hours) and for a senior profile between € 5,005.37 and € 7,049.76 (based on 40 hours), excluding 8% holiday allowance. The exact salary depends on your knowledge, level, and work experience.

  • On top of the salary, there is a fixed amount for the Sustainable Employability Budget for things that contribute to staying healthy and motivated (2.3% according to the Bouw & Infra collective labor agreement).

  • With an eye on a long-term relationship, we offer you an indefinite contract immediately.

  • 43 leave days according to the Bouw & Infra collective labor agreement. Of these days, 13 are paid out in your individual budget; you can choose to buy these days back;

  • A laptop and a smartphone.

  • Excellent secondary employment conditions such as standard insurance for all employee risks, pension schemes, an extra supplement in case of disability, and a contribution towards trade union membership.

  • You have the choice between an electric lease car, a mobility budget, or an NS Business Card.

  • With a permanent contract, you can choose a brand-new (electric) bicycle thanks to our partnership with lease-a-bike.

  • Much attention to your growth thanks to our own Dura Vermeer Academy with plenty of education and training opportunities within your field, but also in the area of vitality.

  • Company fitness scheme with a choice from a sports offering of over 3,500 sports locations throughout the Netherlands.

  • A good work-life balance thanks to a flexible working policy such as working from home and flexible arrangements for working hours, working times, emergencies, caregiving, or sabbaticals.

  • For new fathers and partners: 100% continued payment of your salary during the 5 weeks of supplementary birth leave, instead of the standard 70%.

  • For the generation that has accumulated student debt during the new loan system, there is a beneficial scheme for the repayment of student debt. You can contribute an amount from your gross salary annually to repay your student debt. Dura Vermeer doubles your contribution.
