What we're looking for

  • Completed education in electrical engineering, energy technology, or similar at MBO or HBO level;

  • VCA-Vol;

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Measurement Specialist 1;

  • Good communication skills, able to work well with people of varying knowledge and experience levels and diverse backgrounds;

  • That you strive to obtain the certificates for Energy Supply Team Leader, RIV, TRV, and BVL, and low voltage inspector NEN 1010/3140 (pre);

  • You have some theoretical and practical knowledge of the electrical installations within the ProRail domain;

  • Familiarity and experience with MS Office and possession of a driving license B;

  • Flexible, 24/7 availability in a fault standby roster;

The role

As a technical specialist in low voltage and high voltage, your heart will beat faster for electrical and energy technology. You find maintenance, faults, and all voltage levels between 0 and 25,000 volts extremely interesting. LV and HV projects on the tracks: they are tailor-made for you. With an eye for safety, you will work together with your colleagues on the most beautiful rail infra projects throughout the Netherlands. It follows logically that collaboration is in your blood, because you simply cannot do it alone.

What you'll do

Measurement specialist low voltage - high voltage. As a technical specialist, you will be responsible for performing measurements and inspections on the low voltage and high voltage installations used within the rail infra. You will be responsible as a measurement specialist in accordance with the applicable VVW-HS standard. And you are responsible for drafting advice and/or drawings and calculations. Additionally, you bear responsibility for the accuracy of your own work and for determining the necessary data. You interpret request specifications, guidelines, and regulations, and you formulate the starting points for the required activities. You perform verification and validation on your own work. Furthermore, you will be engaged in the following activities:

  • Switching and securing low voltage and high voltage installations;

  • Performing functional and technical measurements and testing during maintenance work;

  • Performing inspections;

  • Revision measurements;

  • Reporting, analyzing, and assessing measurement results;

  • Locating and resolving cable faults;

  • Performing trend measurements to assess the condition of cables, transformers, and other installation components;

  • Adjusting, parameterizing, and testing low voltage and high voltage protections;

  • Commissioning new installation components;

  • Safeguarding knowledge of new and existing installations, measuring equipment, and work procedures;

  • Drafting measurement and research plans;

  • Performing all occurring electrotechnical measurements;

You maintain contact with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers and identify commercial opportunities from existing projects.
