The role

The world of TenneT is high-voltage. As a Commissioning & Service Engineer, you will feel this like no one else. Without you, the world around us stands still. That is the impact your job has. Where electricity is taken for granted by others, for you it is a challenge to ensure it is always there. A day in high voltage is a day in the most exciting and beautiful field in electrical engineering. But it also means getting out of bed at night to resolve a fault, so that the rest of the Netherlands can start a day in which the lights come back on. The work area for this role is Brabant. In the role of measurement specialist for high-voltage installations, you have a lot of freedom to organize and perform your own work. Therefore, you possess a high sense of responsibility and tackle matters proactively. What are you going to do as a measurement specialist for high-voltage installations?

What you'll do

  • Performing functional and technical measurements and testing during maintenance work, 1-to-1 replacement projects, during large projects, as a member of the test team, or on transformer instrumentation.
  • Performing system inspections, parameterization, and maintenance.
  • Analyzing and assessing measurement results; you report these and provide advice to the Knowledge Carrier.
  • Reporting measurement results (including faults and deviations) and advising on risks and possible solutions.
  • Switching and securing the secondary / primary HV installation as commissioned. In this, you have a clear helicopter view and know how to oversee the consequences.
  • Securing knowledge of new installations within the Areas and between specialists (for example by means of courses and presentations).
  • Participating in the fault standby service.

At TenneT, we seek professionals who contribute to the future of our electricity grid. We expect you to have the right experience and skills to make a valuable contribution to our team and our mission.

What you bring

  • You have an mbo+ and/or hbo working and thinking level and at least a completed mbo level 4 education in the direction of Electrical Engineering or Energy Technology (or comparable certificates);
  • You have knowledge of HV construction primary / secondary or are willing to acquire it;
  • You are analytically strong and meticulous;
  • You are an expert in communication (both verbal and written) and you can manage both independently and in a team;
  • You have a flexible work attitude and you can deal well with changes. You have an eye for improvements and innovations;
  • You demonstrate independence, initiative, and the ability to work in a team (relevant competencies). Additionally, you naturally possess strong communication skills and speak very good Dutch.
  • Last but not least, working safely is not a point of discussion for you.

TenneT offers you the chance to contribute to a sustainable energy future. Together with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders, you work on innovative solutions that make the energy transition possible. With us, you get the space to develop your talent and work in an environment where your growth is central. We encourage initiative and give you the space to come up with new ideas. We offer you:

  • A permanent contract with a two-month probationary period, based on [aantal] hours per week.
  • A salary in scale 6: €3691 to €6493 per month with 8% holiday allowance and a 6% year-end bonus.
  • A solid pension via ABP: we pay 70% of your premium.
  • 43 vacation days per year.
  • All mentioned employment conditions apply to full-time employment, unless stated otherwise.
  • Hybrid working where possible, including travel, internet, and a home office allowance.
  • Support for your vitality, with a contribution towards a sports membership and health insurance, and our Always Energy program.
  • Development opportunities via the TenneT Academy, so that you can continue to expand your knowledge and skills.
