At least 3 years of experience in execution, or specifically in the preparation, planning, and coordination of outdoor work.
The motivation to further develop yourself as a site manager.
You help the Netherlands move forward, we help you
This is what you can expect from us:
26 vacation days for a full-time employment plus a variable number of unscheduled days per year. Additionally, you can purchase extra vacation days.
Plenty of development opportunities. Think of training via our own Boskalis Academy, Performance & Development conversations, and engaging sessions - from webinars to career events with training and colleagues sharing their career steps within Boskalis.
Projects at locations throughout the country. The Boskalis campus in Papendrecht is the base - here you will find restaurants, a sports field with weekly sports lessons, a state-of-the-art auditorium, a hip coffee spot, and a beautiful view of our own shipping quay.
Valuable encounters with colleagues. For example, through networking and knowledge sessions and other events. Or the activities of our communities, such as Young Boskalis.
It happens outdoors! And that is where you make the difference. As a site manager at Boskalis Nederland, you ensure that the execution of projects runs smoothly. Within Rivers & Dikes, you work on projects throughout the Netherlands, and sometimes in Belgium or Germany. Whether you primarily have experience in the execution itself or are particularly strong in the organizational side of the work: with us, you get all the space to further develop yourself as a site manager.
Go for it!
You are responsible for the day-to-day operations on the construction site. You manage the skilled workers, monitor the planning, and ensure that the right resources are available on time. In this way, you move projects one step further every day and see plans become reality. You also constantly look at how our work can be done smarter, while continuing to supervise that everyone works safely. Because at Boskalis, safety always comes first.
What makes your work extra special? You contribute to protection against flooding. Because at Rivers & Dikes, we work on dikes, waterways, and flood defenses: from design to construction and maintenance. Within these projects, all kinds of specialisms come together, such as large-scale earthmoving and hydraulic engineering.
This is what your work looks like:
This makes your future colleague proud
"At Boskalis Nederland, you get a lot of responsibility and the freedom to organize your work in your own way. That not only leads to more job satisfaction, but also to satisfied clients and beautiful results!"
Taco, Director Rivers & Dikes
Ensuring a safe working environment and a good atmosphere on the work floor. In doing so, you work together with the assistant site manager.
Guiding skilled workers and helping them grow in their trade. You also continue to work on your own development as a professional.
Organizing the construction site efficiently, translating the project planning into a detailed schedule, and choosing appropriate working methods.
Reporting daily and weekly to the head site manager and project manager regarding the progress of the project. You also identify deviations and make adjustments in a timely manner.
Liaising with your colleagues from work preparation, including to submit the complete handover file to the client.
You take responsibility for your work and demonstrate entrepreneurship: you work proactively, dare to chart your own course, and seize opportunities to organize the work more smartly. Thanks to your experience, you have an overview of what is needed to ensure the outdoor work runs well. At the same time, you communicate easily with colleagues in the office. You convey your message clearly. You also always think one step ahead and respond to what is needed in the next phase.
Are you doubting whether you have enough experience, but are enthusiastic? Then we would love to hear from you! Together, we will look at what a suitable step would be. This way, you could also start as an assistant site manager.

You will work together with...
... a team of 50 to 100 colleagues within a project, depending on the phase of the project. What characterizes our project teams? As colleagues, we work closely together and step in for one another where necessary. That makes the atmosphere close-knit and the lines of communication short. We also enjoy seeking each other out outside of working hours. Good to know: in good consultation with your project team, you can also work from home occasionally.
The atmosphere at Boskalis Nederland? It is down-to-earth, collegial, and sincerely involved - in the site hut, at the project locations, and in the office. We help each other progress, keep learning, and all have the same goal in mind: delivering the work as well as possible. In everything we do, you can feel the passion for the trade and the pride in our work.
It is good that you know how to find our vacancies and want to share them with a potential candidate, because we understand they might become enthusiastic about this great vacancy. However, we have not designed our recruitment process in this way; at Boskalis, we handle recruitment ourselves. This means that we do not accept unsolicited applications or CVs from W&S agencies and that we will treat these as direct applications.
Please note: Boskalis never asks for a financial contribution for arranging visas or other documents in relation to a vacancy. Be alert to individuals posing as our recruiters who do ask for such contributions.
