What we're looking for

  • You (almost) possess the diploma of Technical Ophthalmic Assistant (TOA)

  • You enjoy working both independently and in a team

  • You are available for 24 to 36 hours per week, and are available on your working days between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM

What you'll get

  • A salary between €3,252.- and €4,770.- gross per month (FWG 45), in accordance with CAO ZKN based on full-time employment (40 hours)

  • An end-of-year bonus of 8.33% and holiday allowance of 8.33%

  • Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometer with a maximum of 80 km (one way). Do you travel by public transport? Then we reimburse these costs fully

  • A fixed-term contract with a view to permanent employment

How you can make an impact as a Technical Ophthalmic Assistant

As a Technical Ophthalmic Assistant (TOA), you guide patients and reassure them. You perform accurate eye examinations to provide optimal support to the ophthalmologist and optometrist. Through your expertise and care, you improve the patient experience and contribute to efficient and high-quality eye care.

What you'll do

  • Support of consultation hours: You support the ophthalmologists during consultation hours by performing preliminary examinations, taking medical histories, and preparing patients for the ophthalmologist.

  • Independent performance of functional tests: You independently perform functional tests, including OCT, biometry, corneal topography, fundus photography, and visual field examinations.

  • Postoperative cataract clinic: You independently conduct a postoperative cataract clinic and handle the administrative processing, such as writing letters to the GP.

  • Patient information and guidance: You inform, instruct, and guide patients and their companions regarding the procedures and the follow-up of their treatment.

  • Process improvement: You actively participate in thinking about improving internal processes and contribute to the optimization of care delivery.

  • Varied work schedule: You work with a different schedule per half-day, so no day is the same. For example, you support the ophthalmologist in the morning and perform functional tests in the afternoon. This ensures a lot of variety in your work.

In this focus clinic Bergman Clinics | Ogen in Haarlem, you will be part of a team consisting of ophthalmologists, ANIOS, PAs, orthoptists, optometrists, and fellow TOAs. We offer personal, high-quality tailored care in a relaxed atmosphere. The clinic has a fully equipped outpatient clinic. Due to the small scale of the clinic, communication lines are short and there are plenty of opportunities to develop your all-round skills. The team is known for its professionalism, collegiality, and friendliness and will ensure that you feel welcome!
