We would love to get in touch with an enthusiastic, Dutch-speaking veterinarian who is interested in a 32-hour internship at AniCura Drechtstreek starting March 1, 2027.

AniCura Specialist Referral Center Haaglanden in Rijswijk is the extension of the veterinary practices in the Southwest Netherlands region. AniCura stands for providing the best veterinary care, including through intensive collaboration and sharing of knowledge. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are part of AniCura Drechtstreek.

Our multidisciplinary team of veterinarians and veterinary specialists (ECVS, ECVN, ECVIMCA cardiology, ECVO, ECVECC/ACVECC, ECVD, ECVDI) is supported by veterinary nurses and veterinary assistants. All modern facilities belonging to a contemporary referral center are present, including CT, MRI, direct digital X-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound incl. Doppler, various endoscopic facilities, well-equipped operating rooms, quarantine units, laboratory including blood (gas) analysis, blood clotting, cytology, and a well-equipped ICU department with a ventilator. A dedicated ICU team under veterinary leadership of an ECVECC/ACVECC Diplomate and 2 residents provides 24-hour care for emergency and critical patients, and perioperative care.

Approximately 170 enthusiastic colleagues work at our locations. The atmosphere with us is informal and professional. Together we do everything we can to provide the best animal care and we are proud of that.

We are looking for a driven and registered, Dutch-speaking veterinarian who has graduated in the companion animal specialization, with a strong motivation to further develop themselves in companion animal medicine. You will be deployed within all available disciplines and varying shifts at our referral centers Dordrecht and Rijswijk.

The intention is that through intensive participation in clinical work and strong exposure to as high a caseload as possible, within an environment where specialist knowledge is present, you can lay a broad foundation for a later career in companion animal medicine. Consequently, you will also be explicitly involved in evening, night, and weekend shifts, where responsibility for admitted patients and the initial reception of presented emergency patients will be the most important activities. At all times, an experienced on-call specialist per discipline will be available.

Additionally, you will receive weekly lessons from specialists or specialists in training, and participation in journal clubs is encouraged. And you will be guided by a mentor throughout the entire year. At our referral centers, quality, customer friendliness, and efficiency are paramount, and the successful candidate wholeheartedly endorses these objectives. Furthermore, you are able to work in a team and possess good communication skills.

We offer an appointment for 32 hours for a period of 13 months starting March 1, 2027. Any extension of employment as a veterinarian or in the form of a specialist-in-training/residency track may be possible, depending on demonstrated capabilities and availability of training positions. We offer you the possibility of accommodation near our practice in Dordrecht and overnight accommodation at the Rijswijk location.
