What we're looking for

  • A completed education in the field of civil engineering, technology, or similar, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in project or program management within the built environment.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
  • In possession of a B driver's license.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with HSSE leadership and compliance.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing complex projects
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the Benelux.
  • In possession of a VCA certificate or willing to obtain one.

Nice to have

  • Experience with large-scale and long-term utility projects
  • Experience with complex client organizations (e.g., government/semi-government, airports, or international corporates)
  • Experience in managing large quantity surveying, cost assessments and cost estimation design and construction processes
  • Experience with contract management and (construction) contract forms

What you'll do

Are you the driving force behind managing complex construction tasks, such as logistics centers, (air)port terminals, hotels, high-rise buildings, and energy projects?  And do you enjoy working in a predominantly international environment?

As a senior project manager, you are responsible for managing and organizing the project  from the initiation phase through to final delivery. You work closely with colleagues and other team members (such as architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors) to realize challenging projects to the full satisfaction of our clients.

You are accustomed to working in dynamic client environments and stakeholder management is second nature to you.

You also contribute to the further growth of our company by building relationships with our clients, providing support in Business Development, and representing AECOM at events.
 

As a senior project manager, you ensure that projects are designed and realized safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with the quality requirements and operational requirements of the client.  You work in an international environment, communicating intensively with the design team and stakeholders within the client organization, and you play an essential role in the client's decision-making procedures. Through your leadership and clear communication, you ensure that projects continue to run smoothly.

The senior  project manager can work on projects in both the public sector and the private sector.  Experience in navigating a complex stakeholder landscape is a must.  

  • Leading and coordinating complex design and construction processes, either in the public sector or in the private sector.
  • Leading (external) designers and consultants.
  • Leading project meetings such as design reviews, cost reviews, start-up meetings, progress meetings, and risk sessions.
  • Preparing and monitoring project schedules, budgets, and reports.
  • Identifying and controlling risks with appropriate mitigating measures.
  • Maintaining open and transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders and stakeholders within the client organization.
  • Guiding and leading tendering procedures regarding the selection of contracting parties.
  • Advising the client regarding contract forms (UAV, UAV-GC, FIDIC)
  • Close collaboration with the Construction Manager for the planning, phasing, and monitoring of activities on the construction site.
  • Directing and assessing contractors on scope, cost, schedule, and HSSE performance.
  • Ensuring that all activities comply with applicable safety, quality, and operational requirements.
  • Actively promoting and safeguarding AECOM's HSSE and ethical standards at all locations.
  • Assessing design and cost information to ensure it aligns with project objectives.
  • Alignment with the broader project team regarding design, execution, and operational requirements.
  • Stimulating efficiency, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within projects.
