The role

Road supports companies throughout the entire EV ecosystem with the technology and services they need to grow and provide a seamless charging experience. We deliver the essential infrastructure that the EV charging ecosystem runs on. We do this with a specially developed software platform, supported by our unique expertise and world-class customer service. Road currently serves over 200,000 customers and 20% of the Dutch market, and we are determined to repeat this success internationally, including in France. We are at the intersection of cleantech and fintech, and our mission is to make electric charging effortless for everyone.

What you'll do

Are you financially sharp, confident on the phone, and do you like to take full responsibility? As a Credit Controller at Road, you prevent receivables from becoming overdue by proactively following up with customers, resolving questions and disputes quickly, and strictly monitoring payment arrangements. If an invoice is not paid, you ensure that the arrears remain as short and as small as possible. You are the owner of an assigned customer portfolio and of the entire process: from credit assessment and accounts receivable management to collection, bailiffs, and ultimately the write-off of the claim. Using Excel and our finance systems (such as NetSuite, Payt, and TKB), you analyze and prioritize your portfolio, and you will be given the space to further improve and automate the process.

  • Portfolio management: You are the owner of an assigned customer portfolio. You follow up on overdue items within the agreed terms, keep the aging of receivables within the norm, and proactively escalate risks.

  • Collection via telephone and email: You proactively approach customers with overdue payments and also handle difficult conversations independently, resulting in concrete and recorded payment arrangements.

  • Payment arrangements and disputes: You agree on payment arrangements within policy, record them, monitor them, and immediately follow up on unfulfilled agreements. Additionally, you resolve disputes quickly and carefully.

  • Blocking and credit limits: You block customers in a timely and accurate manner, monitor credit limits, and escalate exceptions before they pose a material financial risk.

  • Collection agency and bailiff: You transfer files to the collection agency in a timely, complete, and correct manner, actively manage ongoing files, and involve the bailiff where appropriate based on a clear cost-benefit analysis.

  • Reversals and write-offs: You manage reversals, assess claims in cases of fraud and bankruptcy, submit claims to the trustee where necessary, and process write-offs accurately according to the agreed process.

  • Process improvement: You identify and implement improvements that strengthen the effectiveness of collection, internal control, and automation.

What we are looking for in our candidates

  • The willingness to master the most important finance and accounts receivable systems, such as NetSuite, Payt, and TKB.

Our culture

At Road, we believe that an open mindset and continuously challenging ourselves are the keys to the best results. As we continue to grow, we are working on more structure and clearer processes that help us reach the next phase together. That is not just about how we work, but also about how we support each other as people.

Collaboration is one of our core values, and you can see that in how we interact with each other daily. Every afternoon we have lunch together, provided by the company, and we regularly organize voluntary activities outside of working hours. These moments help us to recharge, get to know each other better, and keep our culture strong. Because in our eyes, a healthy team is the foundation of a healthy company.
