The role
Your impact at Movares
Discover the practice of geodesy and see the direct results of your measurements in real projects outdoors.
This is what you will do at Movares
You shadow a land surveyor and measure roads, buildings, and other objects in the outdoor environment.
You assist in the accurate setting out of construction components such as lines, walls, and foundations.
You collect measurement data on location and assist in processing this data.
You work at various project locations and learn how measurements contribute to construction and infrastructure projects.
During this Geodesy internship, you work together with an experienced land surveyor at various locations. You measure roads, buildings, and other objects in the outdoor environment. You also assist in the setting out of components for a construction project, such as grids and walls. In this way, you contribute directly to projects in infrastructure and construction. You learn how accurate measurements form the basis for safe and sustainable projects.
This is who you are at Movares
you are following an MBO education in the field of Geodesy or Land Surveying;
you are curious: you ask questions and want to understand how measurements contribute to a project;
you enjoy collaborating: you coordinate with colleagues and help each other to achieve a good result.
An internship at Movares is a kickstart to your career, and there are several reasons for that. For instance, you can count on top-notch support from your internship supervisor, your team, and campus recruiter Noortje. Additionally, you will join a group full of like-minded people. Every year, we welcome between 30 and 40 interns. You will meet them during the monthly Movares Backstage meetings, where connecting with others is the priority. Sometimes you will go out for lunch together or visit a project. Other months, a substantive session is on the schedule, where you might learn to present or advise better, for example.
And also as a member of Young Movares, our youth association, there are regularly fun activities in your calendar. Additionally, every second Tuesday of the month, you can join the Café van de Toekomst: an inspiration session where you are updated, together with your colleagues, on topics and projects taking place within our organization. And that is not all: you can make use of our own Academy with over 3,000 different learning paths, training courses, and e-learning modules.
This is what you get at Movares
At Movares, you work on a challenging assignment with plenty of opportunities to develop yourself. There is a fun and cozy atmosphere, you get a look behind the scenes of a leading consultancy and engineering firm, and you get plenty of room for your own initiative and good guidance. The duration and start date are to be determined in consultation.
Furthermore, you receive:
an attractive allowance of €550 based on full-time employment;
room to find your ideal work-life balance;
great colleagues and an internship position in Amsterdam or Leek.
And there is more. Because interning at Movares also means:
contributing to a clean world, because you are interning at the first company in the Netherlands with a Zero Waste certificate;
becoming a member of Young Movares, the youth association where you learn from and with other young colleagues.
