Financial Controller

• A completed degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, or a similar field is a plus.

• A structured way of working and an eye for detail.

BriqSafe (currently operating under the name LegionellaDossier) is the leading SaaS platform in the Netherlands in the field of water safety and compliance.

Since our founding in 2015, we have grown into a team of more than 30 professionals in Utrecht. We help organizations in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom in managing, automating, and demonstrating compliance regarding water safety. We are now expanding into Spain and other international markets, with a clear ambition: to become a global market leader within five years.

Our platform is currently undergoing a complete transformation. We are replacing our legacy system with a modern, scalable architecture based on microservices, event-driven communication, and a much more intelligent feature set.

This is a hands-on role in which execution and improvement go hand in hand. You will not only manage our financial processes and operational workflows but also look critically at how these can be made smarter. You will document existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and investigate how AI-driven solutions can automate repetitive tasks and improve the quality of our financial processes. We are in a phase where the right person will have a genuine influence on how Finance is structured and developed within BriqSafe.

You will receive a lot of responsibility from the start and grow along with the organization.

• Managing daily financial administration, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, and tax filings.

• Being responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing, including the preparation of annual financial reporting.

• Preparing management reports and financial analyses to support decision-making.

• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

• Managing the full invoicing process and revenue recognition, including timely and correct invoicing to customers and the proper processing of subscription income.

• Collaborating on the implementation of a new invoicing and subscription management system.

• Playing a pioneering role in applying AI tools and agentic workflows to automate repetitive financial tasks.

• Supporting the setup of new legal entities to enable smooth and compliant financial operations in new international markets.

We believe that Finance & Operations are ideally suited for AI-native workflows. You do not need to be an AI expert; technological affinity, curiosity, and a willingness to experiment are more important to us.

• 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in a similar role, preferably within a start-up or scale-up environment.

• Interest in finance, operations, and AI.

We believe that finance and operations will change significantly in the coming years due to AI-driven workflows. You do not need to be an AI expert, but we are looking for someone who is tech-savvy, curious, and has an experimental mindset.
