MBO Working and Learning (BBL) in the Netherlands

BBL (Vocational Learning Track) is also known as working and learning. Within Jumbo, we offer you the opportunity to obtain your MBO diploma in combination with working at Jumbo within 9 months to 1.5 years. To top it all off, we also cover the costs. This means you can obtain your MBO 2, 3, or 4 diploma free of charge!

You will go to school one day every two weeks, and work and learn at Jumbo the rest of the week. You will follow the lessons as much as possible in your region, with fellow students from the neighborhood who also work at Jumbo. You will always work in themes. A very diverse range of subjects will be covered. The theory lessons are provided by a professional teacher, and the fun part is that you can immediately apply this theory in practice with assignments that are tailor-made for your workplace.

So, we also provide practical training. You will be guided by a colleague (your practical trainer). Additionally, your internship supervisor will visit a number of times per year to help you further. This way, you can work on practical assignments in your Jumbo branch under professional guidance.

You are eager to learn, enthusiastic, and can work well in a team. You write in a customer-friendly manner with a capital K and know how to take action. Additionally, you are motivated to take the first steps in your career and perhaps fulfill a leadership role in the future!

• You possess some experience in working with colleagues, customers, and/or food;
• You have a good command of the Dutch language;
• Depending on the training program you choose to follow, you possess a vmbo diploma or a transition certificate from 3 to 4 havo/vwo
