Pay & benefits

What you'll get

As a Groente & Fruit Specialist, you can also expect something from us. With the Jumbo formula, we make it happen. Because we ensure that you feel good in your skin, AND have enjoyment at work, AND grow in your profession. You also receive:

A salary that makes you happy.
Targeted training and education within our own Jumbo Academy.
Growth opportunities. For example, to a position as Team Leader.
The possibility to participate in our collective health insurance.
24 vacation days, 3 hours of ATV weekly, and holiday pay (based on a 40-hour work week).
10% discount on all your groceries that we pay out via your salary. Plus extra discounts on, for example, sneakers, cinema, and electronics. (It may be that not all stores offer this discount).

The role

As a Groente & Fruit Specialist, you are the driving force of our produce department. You maintain an overview, monitor quality, and ensure that everything runs smoothly. You are therefore more than a fresh produce worker, but not a manager. It is precisely that mix of responsibility, collaboration, and rolling up your own sleeves that makes this role so much fun.

What you'll do

You ensure that the fruit and vegetable department always looks fresh, well-maintained, and inviting. From juicy oranges to the first Dutch strawberries of the season: you have an eye for it.
You monitor the quality of our products. You perform quality rounds, check stock levels, and ensure that products are replenished in the correct manner.
You keep an eye on promotions and offers, order on time, and ensure that customers are not faced with an empty shelf when their favorite product is on sale.
You guide and coordinate colleagues on the shop floor. Especially new colleagues can count on your help, explanation, and enthusiasm.
You advise customers about products, flavors, and possibilities for use. Looking for an apple that is nice and fresh? Or vegetables for a pasta? You love to think along.
You help brainstorm how we can make the department even more attractive. For example, with a tasting or a clever presentation that immediately makes customers want to try something new.
You are on the shop floor a lot. Because of this, you quickly see what can be improved and you take action immediately. You are simply allowed to take initiative here.
