Data Analysis Internship | Packaging Line Performance

• You are pursuing a Higher Professional Education (HBO) degree, such as:

• You have strong analytical skills
• You work in a structured and independent manner

• Experience with Excel

Do you want to make a real impact with data in a production environment? At JDE Peet’s in Joure, you will get the chance to tackle a concrete business challenge: analyzing and improving the performance of our packaging lines.

During your internship, you will work on a data-driven analysis with a direct impact on our operations. You will, among other things:

• Analyze production, machine, and planning data
• Make product changeovers and setup times insightful
• Analyze KPIs such as output, line speed, downtime, and efficiency
• Investigate which product characteristics influence performance
• Identify connections and root causes using data
• Develop visualizations and dashboards (e.g., Power BI)
• Formulate and substantiate concrete opportunities for improvement
• Present your insights to stakeholders on the shop floor and in management

Within our factory, we work according to a make-to-order strategy. This means that we regularly switch between different products and tea blends. These changes bring variation and complexity — and potentially also performance loss.

Using data, you will investigate where this loss occurs and how we can improve it.

You will investigate the following question:

To what extent do product changeovers and product characteristics influence the performance of our packaging lines, and how can we improve them without impacting quality and service?
