Manager Finance & Control

• Leadership experience: You have at least 10 years of experience in finance or accountancy, of which a significant part is in a position of ultimate responsibility or a leadership role. You know how to guide, motivate, and direct a team towards quality - and you dare to take the lead in doing so.

• Financial expertise: You are completely at home in accounting, tax matters, and financial compliance. You have experience in setting up and improving processes in a medium to large organization, preferably with an international dimension.

• System knowledge (ERP): Excel holds few secrets for you. Additionally, you have worked with ERP systems such as NetSuite (definitely a plus) or AFAS. Familiarity with tools like SpendCloud or HubSpot is a nice addition.

• Educational background: You have completed a higher professional (HBO) or university (WO) education in accountancy or a similar field. Do you hold an RA title? Then that is a clear advantage.

• ERP implementation: You have actively participated in an ERP implementation and know what is involved in terms of processes, migration, and internal coordination.

• Strong communicator: You can convey financial information clearly and persuasively, both towards your team and towards management and other departments.

• Language proficiency: You speak and write fluently in Dutch and English and can switch smoothly between both in a professional context.

• Hybrid availability: You work largely where you want, but are in our office in Rotterdam at least two days per week and are available full-time to both contribute substantively and set the direction.

• Team management: You lead 7-8 colleagues within finance (accounting, controlling, and tax).

• Month-end closing: You coordinate the month-end closing process and ensure that everything is delivered on time and accurately.

• Reporting: You prepare monthly reports for the MT and the shareholder.

• Audits: You are the point of contact for the external auditor and manage everything regarding the annual audit.

• Budgeting and forecasting: You prepare budgets, keep a close eye on progress, and signal when adjustments are needed.

• Tax filings: You review and/or prepare various filings, such as VAT, VIES, corporate income tax, and CBS filings, and ensure that everything is submitted correctly and on time.

• Payroll: Together with HR, you ensure correct payroll administration.

• Cash management: You maintain an overview of daily cash flows and ensure that payment batches and supplier payments run smoothly.

• Processes: You actively contribute ideas on how we can organize finance more smartly and efficiently.

• Collaboration: You work closely with teams such as Sales, Operations, Tech, and Product to support them with financial insights.

• Internal control: You improve our administrative processes and ensure that everything is properly secured (AO/IB).

• ERP implementation: You support the finance flow within the implementation of our new ERP system (NetSuite), during which you also collaborate on the complete redesign of the data warehouse.

As Manager Finance & Control, you play a key role in how we steer the organization financially. Whether it is tightly managing the month-end closing, preparing the audit, or providing financial input for large internal projects - you provide structure, overview, and control.

You lead a team of 7-8 employees and ensure that our financial processes are accurate and provide insight. You work closely with the CFO and translate complex figures into clear advice that can move the entire organization forward.

This is a role for someone who loves to roll up their sleeves, is sharp on details, and also enjoys thinking along at a strategic level.
