Forward Deployed Engineer (NL)

• A higher professional (HBO) or academic (WO) education, for example in Technical Business Administration, Business Information Management, Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Informatics or a similar field

• Affinity with AI, automation, and software

• Experience with or interest in APIs, databases, and integrations

• Basic knowledge of Python or JavaScript, or the motivation to work with these

• Good communication skills

• A proactive and independent working attitude

• Excellent command of the Dutch and English language

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you ensure that our technology actually makes an impact. You work closely with customers, understand how their organization works, and translate processes into smart AI solutions. Subsequently, you configure, test, and implement our digital employees so that they deliver immediate value. You sit exactly between customer, technology, and product. No two days are the same. One week you are automating processes at a logistics organization, the next week you are helping a financial service provider or healthcare institution take repetitive work off their hands.

You are responsible for the implementation of our digital employees at customers.

That means you:

• Analyze business processes and understand where AI can make a difference

• Configure and implement our Voice AI and Chat AI solutions

• Realize connections with existing systems via APIs

• Develop new use cases and prototypes

• Test, improve, and optimize implementations

• Solve technical challenges together with Product and Engineering

• Continuously look for ways to make implementations smarter and more scalable

So you are not just working technically. You are actually in a lot of conversation with customers and translate their wishes into working solutions.

This position sits exactly between customer, product, and engineering. You see direct results from your work. You don't spend months building one small part, but ensure that complete AI solutions actually go live at customers. You get a lot of freedom, work with the latest AI technology, and learn incredibly fast because you constantly encounter new organizations and processes.

This role can grow in different directions. Do you eventually want to lead complex implementations and become the point of contact for large customers? Then you develop yourself towards Senior Forward Deployed Engineer. Are you instead interested in product development? Then you can grow towards Product or Engineering and help build the future of Freeday. Which direction you ultimately choose, you largely decide yourself.

You are curious, learn quickly, and enjoy solving complex problems. You feel just as comfortable in a conversation with a customer as behind your laptop getting an implementation or integration working. You don't have to be a hardcore software engineer, but you do have an affinity for technology and get energy from building smart AI solutions.
