Akerboom Yacht Equipment in Leiden is part of De Vries Groep (Feadship) and provides custom solutions for superyachts: hatches, doors, cranes, platforms, gangways, and boarding ladders. Annually, we work on an average of four yachts. Our high-end equipment meets the highest requirements and is applied in technically advanced, luxury yachts. As a Metalworker at Akerboom, you play a crucial role in realizing luxury yacht components that form the backbone of these impressive vessels. Thanks to your craftsmanship, every part fits perfectly and meets the highest quality standards.

The core tasks of the position are:

• Welding yacht and boarding equipment: aluminum, stainless steel on stainless steel, and stainless steel on steel.
• Assembling and processing aluminum parts according to specifications and technical drawings;
• Checking the quality of your work;
• Working with machines and tools;
• Collaborating with colleagues to complete projects on time and within budget.

You are a craftsman, and you have enjoyment in and passion for technology. Furthermore, you have or can:

• Experience with and certification in various welding techniques, especially aluminum and steel;
• MBO level 3 diploma in Metalworking or Production Technology;
• Possession of at least a NIL 3 diploma MIG/MAG and aluminum/stainless steel welding certificates;
• Read and interpret technical drawings;
• Be familiar with safety regulations and working according to the highest safety standards;
• Flexibility, a proactive attitude, and an eye for quality and detail;
• Further want and be able to develop as a craftsman;
• Willingness to operationally lead a group of colleagues at a shipyard within a project;
• Ambition and skills to specialize in welding techniques;
• Be a team player who can also work independently.
