Physical Laboratory Technician

• At least MBO work and thinking level (level 3)
• A completed laboratory education at level 2 or 3
• You work accurately and are able to perform routine work with long-term concentration
• You are practically minded, have a hands-on approach, are flexibly deployable, and are physically capable of production work
• You are quality-oriented, proactive, and can collaborate well within a team
• Good command of the Dutch language

The accredited laboratories of Eurofins Environment offer an extensive package of chemical, physical, and biological analyses in all environmental matrices in the Netherlands. Through years of experience, it possesses extensive knowledge in both routine analyses and non-standard analyses, including analyses of special compounds and micropollutants. Eurofins is a market leader in the field of specialist research; clients include water quality managers, Rijkswaterstaat, provincial and municipal governments, environmental consultancy firms, industry, and contractors. Approximately 600 motivated experts manage the process from sampling to the digital reporting of the analytical results. Analyses primarily take place in the large laboratories in Amsterdam (Eurofins Omegam) and Amersfoort  (Eurofins Analytico).

As a Physical Laboratory Technician, you will work within the Physical Laboratory of Eurofins Analytico. You will independently perform preparations and basic physical tests on environmental samples and ensure that the samples are correctly and accurately prepared for further analyses. You will work with various physical techniques and equipment and are an important link in the standardized analytical process.

You work according to clear work instructions, identify peculiarities, and present them to an experienced colleague. The work is routine and precise—your accuracy is essential for the quality of the subsequent process.

Typical activities within the physical package include

• Pre-treatment of samples, such as digestion, leaching, and sieving
• Performing lute determinations (clay/particle fraction)
• Organic matter determinations
• Particle size distributions (sieve or laser granulometry)
• Basic preparations and other standard physical tests, depending on matrix and protocol
• Safe and responsible handling of equipment, materials, and PPE
• Identifying and reporting deviations or peculiarities
