Trucking Coordinator

• MBO-4 working and thinking level and have demonstrable leadership experience, preferably within transport and logistics;

• Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt your style to every situation;

• Stress-resistant, multitasking, accurate, and result-oriented, with an eye for cost control and process improvement;

• You can effectively determine your own priorities daily and handle this independently or coordinate this with your colleagues and/or the Operations Manager;

• You are a communicatively strong and connecting leader who switches easily with employees, customers, and other internal and external stakeholders;

• Master the Dutch language well in speech and writing; thorough knowledge of the English language is a plus; and you can work excellently with Microsoft Office and digital systems.

Where will you work?
You will join Royal Den Hartogh Logistics, an international and leading logistics service provider for the chemical, gas, polymer, and food industries. As a Trucking Coordinator at Den Hartogh Logistics, you will work closely with the Operations Manager Coevorden and will be part of the local management team. You are the driving force behind the daily operation and provide direct leadership to our drivers. You ensure the optimal deployment of trucks and drivers, so that our transports proceed safely, efficiently, and according to schedule. This is NOT a role as a transport planner; it is a leadership position in which you manage, motivate, and guide operational personnel. You are a true People Manager and you get energy from coaching and leading employees. You see what the employees need and, together with them, you create a plan to work on this.

• Planning and coordinating the deployment of trucks and drivers (not transport planning, but operational support);

• Ensuring a safe working environment, Safety will always be our #1 priority;

• You provide direct leadership to our team of drivers and are the primary point of contact for these colleagues;

• Conducting conversations with drivers: from recruitment and work situation to absenteeism discussions;

• You are responsible for creating the schedules and thereby ensuring the correct staffing;

• You plan and coordinate the regular maintenance for our tractors.

You will be working at our location in Coevorden. With a team of approximately 45 colleagues, we ensure reliable and efficient logistical services to the oil and gas industry and geothermal energy here every day. Within our location, professionals work in various roles, including planners, account managers, administrative staff, and drivers. Together we form a close-knit team that plays a crucial role in the energy supply in the Netherlands.

We are ready 24/7 to ensure the continuity of the operation. To be able to guarantee this 24/7 service to our customers, we work with a standby roster. The position of Trucking Coordinator is a dynamic and varied role and certainly not a 9 to 5 job! In the evenings and on weekends, you are reachable for emergencies according to our standby roster, which ensures that we are always available for our drivers and customers.
