Requirements

What we're looking for

· At least 4 years of experience in a financial role; e.g., in corporate finance, transaction services, investment banking, or a comparable strategic analytical finance function;

· Experience with independently creating high-quality financial models, including creating business cases, cash flow forecasts, and scenario analyses;

· The ability to translate complex analyses into insights with clear conclusions and proposals;

· Affinity with KPIs, dashboarding, and data-driven decision-making;

· The independence to take up subjects and the persuasiveness to make assumptions discussable;

· Hands-on: you think along about the strategy but also work out the details yourself;

· Proficiency in both the Dutch and English languages.

The role

Since our founding in 2021, we have had one clear goal: one app for all shared mobility, public transport, and taxis in Europe. No more 10 separate apps, IDs, and payment methods, and finally being done with always having the wrong app on your phone for the e-scooter on the corner. Today, Umob is live in more than 28 countries and 300 cities. With more than 300,000 available vehicles, we offer availability, reliability, and convenience. You find, compare, book, and pay directly via the Umob app. Think of, among others, the well-known electric bikes from Lime, scooters from felyx, e-scooters from Dott and Voi, cargo bikes from Cargoroo, and much more.

What you'll do

As Head of Finance at Umob, you are one of the 5 members of the MT and you provide direction to the further development and professionalization of the finance function. You translate financial insights into concrete decisions and play an important role in determining where Umob invests. Which activities deserve priority? What do our growth plans mean for cash flow and financing? And do the investments made result in the expected outcomes? At the same time, you maintain and improve financial models, analyze customer behavior, and build dashboards to monitor our progress. We build for the long term, and therefore like to invest in the right tools and processes to optimize/realize long-term value creation. And this within a very driven, energetic, and dynamic team. The growth phase the company is in requires a Head of Finance who is both strategically strong and hands-on and operationally involved. We work in small teams, can make decisions quickly, and require ownership and accountability from everyone.

Umob focuses on further growth within and outside the Netherlands, with both consumers and municipality(ies). This means that the Head of Finance must be comfortable both with the business model of a fast-growing consumer platform (CLV/CAC dynamics) and with bidding on tenders from and maintaining long-term relationships with municipalities.

· Ultimately responsible for the further development and professionalization of the finance department (in addition to the Head of Finance, one business controller is also active);

· Financial strategic sparring partner for the CEO and other MT members regarding capital allocation, for example by challenging commercial initiatives or the R&D roadmap;

· Developing and realizing the finance roadmap, including providing direction to improvement and change initiatives;

· Developing a practical KPI framework and monitoring it through dashboarding;

· Advising on strategic and financial issues, including the elaboration of business cases in collaboration with the commercial team, the drafting of investment proposals in collaboration with the tech and operations team, and mapping out the various risks and opportunities;

· Customer segmentation and revenue models: You make it insightful which customer groups and business models are most interesting for Umob and think about further exploiting existing and new propositions. Think of weighing/prioritizing initiatives for the R&D roadmap, such as day passes, monthly subscriptions, or potentially a corporate proposition.

· Ultimately responsible for the planning and control cycle;

· Presenting financial insights and developments to the steering group and shareholders.

What does Umob offer?

· A broad finance and strategy role at the heart of the MT;

· Upon further rollout of the company, we offer the opportunity for a full-time position, and when appropriate, the role of CFO;

· Upon extension, an opportunity for equity participation (STAK/SAR plan);

· Direct influence on the strategy of Umob and the most important investment decisions;

· Much responsibility and room to further shape the (financial) strategy of Umob;

· The opportunity to grow with the company;

· A salary appropriate to your experience and the responsibility of the role.
