Senior / Principal Consultant Technology, Innovation and Industrial Policy

You love substantive depth, but find it at least as important that you enjoy going to work. You work from our office in a characteristic canal house on the Spuistraat, in the middle of Amsterdam and easily accessible by public transport. We have lunch together, regularly play a game of foosball, and make time to celebrate successes. Fortunately, our favorite café is just around the corner. In addition, our Amsterdam team regularly organizes activities to get to know each other better outside of projects.

At the same time, you are part of an international organization. You collaborate with colleagues from different countries, travel when projects require it, and during our Technodays, you meet colleagues from our international offices for substantive sessions, workshops, knowledge exchange, and a joint party.

• An employment of 32-40 hours per week.
• An annual contract with a view to permanent employment.
• A gross monthly salary of €3,500-€6,500 based on a 40-hour work week, depending on experience, plus an annual bonus based on personal performance and company results.

At Technopolis, you combine substantive depth with the dynamism of an international consultancy. You work on current policy issues surrounding technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and the future of industry. For Dutch and European governments and public organizations, you translate complex issues into insights and advice that contribute to better policy.

This role goes beyond research and advice alone. As a Senior or Principal Consultant, you are also an entrepreneur within your field. You build relationships with clients, identify opportunities for new projects, and use your expertise to develop strong proposals and new assignments. Business development is part of the role and you enjoy contributing to it.

You do not do this alone. From our office on the Spuistraat in the heart of Amsterdam, you work with a dedicated and international team and with colleagues from our other offices abroad.

• leads multiple projects and monitors substantive quality, planning, and collaboration;
• develops appropriate research and advisory approaches using qualitative and quantitative methods;
• advises clients and translates complex analyses into clear insights and recommendations;
• builds relationships with clients, partners, and other stakeholders;
• identifies new opportunities and develops project proposals and propositions;
• collaborates with colleagues from our international offices;
• shares your expertise and supervises less experienced consultants.

As a Senior or Principal Consultant, you lead research, advisory, and evaluation projects at the intersection of technology, industry, innovation, entrepreneurship, and public policy.

Projects are substantive and varied. Think, for example, of the evaluation of mission-driven innovation policy, a future exploration regarding key technologies, advice on monitoring competitiveness and the business climate, or an international comparison of the position of the Netherlands within a certain sector.

You are an experienced researcher and advisor who enjoys combining substantive expertise with project management, strategic client advice, and business development.

Business development is an important part of your work within this role. You use your substantive expertise to recognize opportunities, further expand relationships, and develop new assignments. You therefore find it not only interesting to provide good research and advice, but also to contribute to the further growth of Technopolis.

For the role of Principal Consultant, we expect extensive experience with complex projects, strategic client advice, and business development, and a greater responsibility for expanding client relationships, assignments, and our expertise.
