DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps Engineer at Rabobank, you support and improve the software lifecycle of calculators for credit risk and capital calculations. You use Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and automation to bring Python-based applications to production safely, reliably, and efficiently. You collaborate with model developers, software engineers, architects, and product owners. You work hybrid; the location, team name, and the split between home and office are yet to be confirmed.

• You automate build, test, and release processes for mission-critical calculators.
• You work with Azure DevOps and support developers of Python applications.
• You improve software quality and the reliability of solutions used worldwide.

You support the full software lifecycle of the calculators, from development and testing to deployment and management. In doing so, you focus on the following activities:

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps. You automate build, test, and release processes and integrate security and compliance requirements into the development pipeline.
• Support development teams with Python applications. You assist with testing, deploying, and maintaining, and you contribute ideas for technical solutions and impact analyses.
• Improve software quality and release processes. You use automation and quality controls to bring new functionality reliably into production.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting. You analyze production incidents, resolve them, and work on structural improvements.
• Improve development and deployment processes. You document technical solutions, workflows, and best practices for the team.

• Azure DevOps and continuous integration and continuous delivery, i.e., CI/CD.
• Infrastructure as Code and automated deployments.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
• Python, package management, dependency management, and virtual environments.
• Agile/Scrum.
• Credit risk and capital calculations.
• Security and compliance within software delivery.

You work together with model developers, software engineers, architects, and product owners on calculators for complex financial calculations. These calculators and a large part of the supporting tooling are developed in Python. Within the team, collaboration and knowledge sharing are central. • HBO or WO working and thinking level.
• At least 4 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer, or Cloud Engineer.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD processes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automated deployments.
• Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with monitoring and observability solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum.

• Knowledge of Python and insight into the implementation of models, calculations, and data flows.
• Experience with Terraform or Bicep.
• Experience with Azure SQL or other Azure services.
• Experience with security and compliance within software delivery.
• Experience in a complex enterprise environment.
• Experience with data or analytical applications.
• Knowledge of a banking environment, especially the risk domain.

Python knowledge is mentioned as an important advantage. At the same time, you are expected to be able to read and understand Python code, support developers, and work with package management, dependency management, and virtual environments. Whether these skills are minimum requirements is yet to be confirmed. You do not need to be a model developer.

For this position, you need at least 4 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer, or Cloud Engineer. Additionally, you have a higher professional or academic level of working and thinking.

You build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate build, test, and release processes, and support developers of Python applications. You also work on monitoring, production incidents, and improvements in software delivery.

You work with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and Python-based applications. Container technologies, monitoring, and Agile/Scrum are also relevant to the position.

Yes, the position offers a hybrid working environment. The work location and the split between home and office are yet to be confirmed.
