Senior Hydraulic Engineering Advisor

• A completed HBO or WO degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant field;

• at least 5 years of work experience as an advisor and consultant within the hydraulic engineering sector;

• experience in writing advice and in guiding integral design processes of hydraulic engineering structures.

• You advise on hydraulic engineering projects such as locks, weirs, and quay structures;

• You participate in the full design process, from preliminary design to detailed design. In doing so, you coordinate with various disciplines and ensure good cooperation within and outside Movares;

• You work closely with your colleagues. You guide and inspire them to further develop their talents.

As a Senior Hydraulic Engineering Advisor, you work on future-proof structures where sustainability, safety, and efficient material use are central. In this role, you are the technical expert towards clients, translating the wishes of clients into realistic designs and models. You contribute to projects ranging from the structural design of new structures, advising on existing structures, providing nautical advice, to coordinating inspections. In your role, you guide these integral and innovative projects, support colleagues with your expertise, and are responsible for clear end products for the client. You will be given plenty of room to deepen and broaden your expertise.

You know the hydraulic engineering sector well and are aware of current issues in the market. You follow current developments, think innovatively, have a large network, and respond flexibly to the societal challenges of relevant clients. Thanks to your experience, you know early on what the client needs. In this, you are the technical leader in the team and know how to enthusiastically engage your colleagues with your open communication, team orientation, and large doses of energy and positivity through your passion for the profession.
