Fire Project Engineer

• MBO/HBO working and thinking level, technical direction (electrical engineering/installation technology)
• **Diploma in Fire Alarm System Installation Specialist** (mandatory)
• **Diploma in Fire Alarm System Maintenance Specialist** (mandatory)
• Knowledge of and experience with NEN 2535 and NEN 2575
• Experience with installation drawings and programming of fire alarm/evacuation control panels
• **Knowledge of MX Consys is a plus**
• Knowledge of project-based working

Johnson Controls is the global market leader in the field of fire safety, security, and building automation. From the Rotterdam location, the L&M (Labor & Material) team delivers fire alarm and evacuation system projects for various customers.

Job Purpose

As a Project Engineer within the L&M team, you are responsible for the technical development and realization of fire alarm and evacuation projects, from the moment of order placement through to successful delivery. You translate the quote into a concrete technical execution in accordance with the applicable standards (NEN 2535, NEN 2575) and ensure efficient coordination of all parties involved.

Tasks and responsibilities

Preparation

• Studying and analyzing the quote after order placement
• Translating customer specifications into technical solutions in accordance with NEN standards
• Identifying any deviations or bottlenecks relative to the quote
• Assessing the Program of Requirements (PvE)

Purchasing and composition

• Determining and ordering necessary parts and materials (detectors, control panel, evacuation center, etc.)
• Assembling components and (sub)systems
• Monitoring delivery times and quality of ordered parts

Technical development

• Preparing installation drawings for fire alarm and evacuation systems
• Providing the programming of fire alarm control panels and evacuation installations
• Ensuring complete and correct technical documentation for certification purposes

Planning and coordination

• Planning the placement/installation on location
• Coordinating the execution, including alignment with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
• Monitoring the project schedule and timely identifying deviations
• Alignment with certifying authorities where applicable

Execution

• Where necessary, personally assisting with or performing installation, connection, and commissioning
• Performing final inspections and testing the system
• Solving technical problems during execution
• Supervising quality and safety during execution, in accordance with applicable regulations

Administration

• Accurately registering direct hours per project (Labor & Material registration)
• Reporting project progress to the supervisor
• Maintaining installation and revision documentation
