What we're looking for

Extensive experience in mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering for civil engineering projects
Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, standards and regulations
Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to junior staff
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills

Nice to have

Experience on Tier 1 contractor projects or complex multi-disciplinary programmes
Knowledge of low-carbon, energy-efficient and sustainable MEP design
Familiarity with digital construction tools, BIM and lean delivery methodologies

Education & certifications

Degree or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, building services or related discipline
Professional accreditation or membership of a relevant body (e.g., CIBSE, IET, Engineers Ireland)
Chartered status with a relevant professional body (or working towards)
Postgraduate qualification in building services, project management or sustainability
Training in BIM management, digital design or advanced MEP technologies

Reporting to the Electrical Project Manager, the Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination and technical delivery of both Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems and Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems. The role ensures compliance with company standards, client requirements and regulatory obligations while supporting efficiency, quality and sustainability. The Senior Electrical Engineer provides technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and project teams.

What you'll do

Develop and review detailed MEP & AGL designs, drawings and specifications
Coordinate MEP & AGL systems with other disciplines to ensure constructability and compliance
Support technical problem-solving on site and in design offices
Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, standards and client requirements
Provide technical guidance to project teams and junior engineers
Assist in planning, sequencing and installation of MEP systems on site
Support commissioning, testing and handover of MEP installations
Liaise with clients, consultants and subcontractors on technical MEP matters
Support project meetings, design reviews and technical workshops
Communicate effectively across multidisciplinary project teams
Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, quality and sustainability
Promote adoption of digital tools, BIM and innovative MEP solutions
Share lessons learned and best practice across projects and teams
