Sales Trader

A fast-growing environmental commodities business is looking to appoint a Sales Trader & Consultant to develop its presence across the DACH market.

The role combines trading, business development and client relationship management, with a strong focus on building a portfolio of German-speaking clients from the ground up. You will work across environmental commodities including carbon, renewable energy certificates and low-carbon gas, identifying market opportunities while developing long-term commercial relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and grow a portfolio of clients across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

• Proactively identify and approach new clients, including through regular cold calling and outbound business development.

• Trade and negotiate environmental commodities, identifying market opportunities and managing commercial risk.

• Develop relationships with energy companies, project developers, financial institutions and other market participants.

• Monitor relevant market, regulatory and pricing developments across the DACH region.

• Work closely with internal trading, analytical and commercial teams to execute transactions and grow the business.

Ideal Profile

• Commercially driven professional with experience in energy, commodities, environmental markets or financial trading.

• Strong business development and negotiation skills, with a genuine appetite for cold calling and winning new clients.

• Existing network or strong understanding of the German-speaking energy, industrial or financial markets is highly advantageous.

• Native-level German and fluent English essential.

• Entrepreneurial, ambitious and comfortable operating in a fast-paced start-up environment.
