The role
My client is a mission-driven scale-up where technology, entrepreneurship, and sustainability come together. They convert waste into sustainable energy, developing renewable fuels that are smart, scalable, and reliable. Using their waste-to-bio-LNG technology, they transform organic residual streams into sustainable transport fuel.
Technology is their foundation, but people make the difference. They work with short lines of communication, take ownership, and build together. As a scale-up, you'll have the space to take initiative and make a visible impact, tackling major challenges in a team.
The role:
As a Field Support & Parts and Equipment Specialist, you combine strategic insight with hands-on execution. You are responsible for the full ecosystem of their technical spare parts - from analysing failure risks for their latest equipment models to keeping the physical warehouse tightly organised.
This isn't a desk-only role - you're a crucial link in the field. Working alongside the Service Manager, you advise clients on complex troubleshooting, prepare for critical shutdowns, and take on-site responsibility for the mechanical completion of equipment, staying actively involved during start-up and commissioning of our projects. With average travel of around one week per month, you'll see first-hand how your expertise contributes to the reliability of their high-quality installations.
What you'll do:
Act as a technical advisor, providing support with complex troubleshooting and field-based technical assistance for new-build projects
Take responsibility for the on-site mechanical completion of equipment in preparation for start-up and commissioning
Carry out test-runs and loop checks, including technical acceptance testing at suppliers, ahead of mechanical completion of individual equipment
Manage the warehouse, including incoming and outgoing goods, and assemble specific kits and tools for planned maintenance or shutdowns
Manage technical spare parts, linking them to the correct assets and service tasks within the system, and compile critical spare parts lists
Who you are:
What defines you: You're sociable, a team player, helpful, flexible, and bring a positive mindset. You enjoy working across different locations.
Your competencies: You're analytical, precise, and a strong problem-solver, with a customer-focused approach. You're both self-starting and self-sufficient.
Your knowledge and experience: Experience in the maintenance and repair of rotating equipment, with a strong preference for reciprocating (piston) compressors. Experience with new-build projects is a significant bonus.
Your background: A practical background - for example in Mechanical Engineering, or work experience within a company operating process installations, as a maintenance mechanic or service technician.
Why join them:
Culture - Ambitious, practical, and mission-driven. No unnecessary hierarchy - just 100% team effort, with room for energy, humour, and celebrating successes together.
Employment conditions - Hybrid working with flexible hours, 27 holiday days (+10 optional), non-contributory pension, bonus and SAR scheme, and attention to wellbeing and team-building.
Impact and mission - Working on bio-LNG as a realistic alternative in the energy transition, with tangible solutions and visible impact.
Future - Responsibility and room to make independent decisions, growing alongside the company as it continues to scale.
Salary: Competitive Salary (DOE)
