AI Engineer

• You have a higher professional (HBO) or academic (WO) level of working and thinking and 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience with AI, in which you have developed AI solutions or actively contributed to them;
• Knowledge of machine learning, LLMs, and software engineering, and have experience with prompt engineering within AI projects;
• You program in Python, work with Git, and can write, test, document, and maintain code;
• Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and/or scikit-learn;
• Basic knowledge of APIs, data processing, and modern data and cloud environments, and gain familiarity with MLOps and deployment;
• You can clearly explain your technical choices, contributions, and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
• You are curious, communicative, take responsibility for your work, and are open to feedback;
• You have excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written (C1 level).

• A permanent contract of 32, 36, or 40 hours with a compensation budget up to €4,600, gross per month incl. holiday allowance and mobility allowance;

As an AI Engineer at Sogeti, you will help build AI applications that organizations use daily. You have gained your first experience with AI and want to grow further in Generative AI and agentic AI. Together with experienced colleagues, you will develop, for example, a knowledge assistant, an application for document processing, or an AI agent that performs defined tasks.

Within our Data & AI community, you will work at the intersection of data, AI, and software engineering. You remain involved from the first client request and the prototype through to integration, production, and improvement. You learn by building, asking for feedback, and sharing your experiences with fellow professionals.

You are curious about what AI can do, but you also look critically at what it actually delivers. Together with your team, you will develop reliable and usable AI solutions that align with client challenges. You translate client needs into concrete AI use cases and develop applications using Python, large language models (LLMs), and proprietary data sources. In doing so, you will work on modern solutions in the field of Generative AI, such as RAG applications, as well as Agentic AI solutions where agents independently perform tasks within predetermined frameworks.

Throughout the entire process, you maintain an eye for quality, reliability, and responsible AI use. You test answers and agent behavior, investigate errors and hallucinations, and take into account aspects such as privacy, security, performance, and costs. Together with your colleagues, you will work on the integration of AI into applications and business processes and contribute to the successful deployment of solutions into production. Even after going live, you remain involved and use user feedback, results, and insights to continuously further improve solutions.

• Your responsibilities include, among other things:
• Translating client requests into concrete AI use cases and development tasks;
• Developing GenAI solutions with LLMs, prompts, and proprietary data sources;
• Building RAG and Agentic AI applications;
• Testing and improving answers, agent behavior, and reliability;
• Integrating AI solutions into applications and processes via APIs;
• Monitoring, optimizing, and further developing solutions after going live.

• Makes an impact within Sogeti's Data & AI organization, where craftsmanship, ownership, and collaboration are central;
• You work together with experienced AI Engineers who think along with you about code, design, and responsible AI;
