The role

Project Engineer – Audio Safety | Schiphol

Build audio solutions that everyone must be able to trust.

Imagine: an airport where tens of thousands of people depend on clear, reliable communication every single day. Where public address and evacuation systems directly influence safety, flow, and tranquility.

Within the Airports Business Line at Bosch, you will work on Audio Safety systems that must always be available.

Think of:

  • public address installations
  • evacuation systems
  • live audio and alerting facilities
  • network-driven audio infrastructures

Everything is live and interconnected, meaning what you build and manage has a direct impact on safety and continuity at Schiphol.

What you'll do

Your role: making technology function in an environment that never stops.

As a Project Engineer Audio Safety, you ensure that audio and evacuation systems are logically structured, remain technically sound, and function reliably — even as Schiphol continuously changes.

You move between:

  • engineering
  • configuration
  • operation
  • changes and optimizations

You ensure that technology and practice continue to align perfectly.

From engineering to live operation

  • Developing and managing audio and evacuation systems
  • Configuring and adjusting systems in a live environment
  • Implementing changes and expansions
  • Analyzing and resolving complex technical disruptions
  • Verifying that systems function logically and stably
  • Supporting software and release management
  • Upgrading and implementing software applications
  • Reporting trends, analyses, and technical findings
  • Recording configurations and documentation
  • Participating in standby duties

You ensure that systems not only work today — but also continue to function reliably in the future.

The environment: live, critical, and constantly in motion.

Working at Schiphol means:

  • systems running 24/7
  • changes occur while operations continue
  • multiple stakeholders are active simultaneously
  • safety is always the priority

This requires precision, technical insight, and oversight.

Here, you do not work on "isolated technology." You work on integrated safety systems that directly influence thousands of travelers per day.

What you bring

Must-haves

Highly desirable

You are someone who not only understands technology — but also makes it manageable.

Why this role is different.

You are not working on a system that "might be used someday." You are working on solutions that:

  • reach thousands of people daily
  • must continue to function during changes
  • have a real-time impact on safety and operations
  • are a visible part of the airport environment

What you design and configure must simply work. Always.

Why you want this

Because you:

  • want to work on technology that truly matters
  • gets energy from complex live environments
  • wants to make an impact on safety and continuity
  • wants to grow within a stable international organization
  • wants to build systems that are relied upon every day

This is not a role for people who "process tickets." This is a role for engineers who take responsibility for systems that must never fail.

Ready to build technology that must always be audible?
