The role

A Feadship belongs to the most advanced yachts in the world. Behind the exceptional design lies a complex technical infrastructure in which hundreds of electrical systems must work together seamlessly. As Project Lead Electrical, you are the technical owner of the complete electrotechnical domain.

From power generation and distribution to automation, navigation, communication, lighting, and system integration. You ensure that all electrical systems meet the highest requirements for performance, reliability, safety, and comfort.

You translate the wishes of the client, architect, and owner into achievable technical solutions. You constantly monitor the balance between quality, planning, and budget. In this way, you play a crucial role. You actively contribute to the construction of a unique superyacht that belongs to the absolute top worldwide.

What you'll do

Together we build superyachts. As Project Lead Electrical at Royal Van Lent Shipyard, you manage the electrical part within the project team. You bear the technical responsibility for the complete electrical system of a Feadship. You do this from the contract through to the warranty period. Concretely, this means that you are responsible for the electrotechnical design and the drafting of technical request specifications. Additionally, you assess the technical solutions of suppliers from a technical perspective. The Electrical discipline within the project management department is responsible for all electrical issues within Royal van Lent. This includes, among others, project support, engineering support, standardization, service and refit support, E-supplier selection, calculations, innovations, and flag state and class-related items.

You work closely with the phase-responsible managers. Think of the Hull Manager during the construction of the hull. Also think of the Engineering Manager during the engineering phase. And think of the Outfitting Manager during the production phase at one of our shipyards in Kaag or Amsterdam. You yourself are part of one or more project team(s) and the technical project owner for the electrical part of the superyacht. You are an advisor and therefore an important linking pin with the designers and contracted suppliers. Through your technical knowledge, you easily translate the wishes and requirements of the client or architect into achievable solutions. In doing so, you constantly monitor the extra and reduced costs.

  • You manage the construction process within your own scope, from the contract phase through to delivery. During this, you constantly monitor all agreements made.
  • Coordination between all parties involved:
    • Designers
    • Owner's representative
    • Phase managers
    • Sister companies
    • De Voogt Naval Architects
    • Subcontractors
    • Co-makers
  • Drafting project and progress reports.
