What we're looking for

You are curious, analytical, and know how to translate complex models into something that customers can truly use. You enjoy working with others, but also take responsibility independently.

What you bring:

a master's degree or comparable experience within data science, machine learning, or AI
experience with Python or R
knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, or NLP
experience with putting models into production, for example via Azure, AWS, or GCP
affinity with explainable AI, MLOps, or for example anomaly detection
you speak Dutch at a minimum B2 level

The role

As a Data Scientist at Sopra Steria, you will work on projects where data truly makes a difference. You apply AI in practice: from fraud detection to analyzing payment flows, from recommendation systems to NLP solutions for the government.

You work with Python, R, notebooks, and cloud environments such as Azure or AWS. Whether you are building models, putting existing models into production, or sparring with customers about what is truly needed, you ensure that data actually works.

You work hybrid, with Groningen as your permanent location.

What you'll do

building, testing, and improving machine learning models
applying deep learning, NLP, computer vision, or anomaly detection
putting models into production via MLOps principles
collaborating with colleagues from different expertise, both technical and strategic
interpreting, substantiating, and translating customer data into concrete value
