The role

Help build the future of existing real estate!

Are you strong with numbers, do you have a passion for existing real estate, and do you truly want to make a difference in renovation, transformation, and sustainability projects? At Dura Vermeer Bouw & Vastgoed, you will get the chance to leave your mark on challenging projects within the existing construction sector as an Estimator (or Cost Expert). From residential renovations and social real estate to complex utility renovations: you make costs transparent, manage risks, and ensure that projects are financially feasible, manageable, and future-proof.

Do you enjoy thinking along about smart, sustainable, and innovative solutions? Then we would love to meet you!

From our regional office in Groningen, we work on diverse renovation and sustainability projects in the Northern Netherlands: from high-rise walk-up flats and duplex houses in the city center of Groningen to terraced houses and detached homes in the rural areas of Friesland and Drenthe. Such as the renovation and sustainability of more than 500 homes in the Vinkenstraat & Vogelbuurt, making homes and apartments earthquake-resistant in Beijum, the transformation of social real estate into 50 apartments on Blekerslaan, to the sustainability of monumental homes in Blauwe Dorp. Projects with real social impact, where people continue to live normally while you improve their living comfort and future-proofing.

Do you desire more complexity in existing real estate? Depending on your knowledge and experience, you will work on utility works such as the renovation of the Herman Gorter complex for the Rijksvastgoedbedrijf, the renovation of the Alliander headquarters, university renovations of the Langezijds building, or the transformation of the Techmed Centre through to the renovation of town halls such as that of the Municipality of Oldenzaal.

What you'll do

As an Estimator (or Cost Expert), you are involved in renovation and sustainability projects in the East and North of the Netherlands from the very first initiative and design phase. You are the specialist in the field of cost determination and ensure that projects receive a solid financial foundation.

You will join a department of estimators and cost experts, where collaboration and knowledge sharing are central. At the same time, you will work intensively with colleagues from project management, design, and execution, as well as with regular subcontractors and suppliers specializing in renovation, transformation, and sustainability. Together, you will determine the best approach for diverse tasks within existing construction. You translate plans into clear budgets, cost overviews, and risk analyses, always with a sharp eye for quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. The atmosphere is informal, professional, and result-oriented, with plenty of room for your own initiative and development.

Whether it is renovating residential complexes or renewing and making utility buildings sustainable: you see opportunities to build smarter, more efficiently, and more innovatively. You analyze project information, assess technical solutions, and translate plans into accurate estimates, budgets, and risk analyses. We preserve what has value and add what creates value.

During tender and construction team processes, you make an important contribution to distinctive bids. You actively think along about alternative execution methods, material choices, and smart optimizations that create added value for the client and contribute to a more efficient construction process.

In addition, you play an active role in the further development of our estimation process. You think along about digitalization, data-driven estimating, and the application of innovative techniques, so that we can prepare our renovation projects increasingly smarter and more efficiently.

You are responsible for, among other things:

  • Preparing estimates, budgets, and cost calculations for renovation and sustainability projects.

  • Requesting, evaluating, and comparing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Identifying and managing opportunities, risks, and financial deviations.

  • Advising on alternative execution methods, material choices, and optimizations.

  • Supporting tender and construction team projects with financial and technical input.

  • Preparing risk analyses and contributing to sharp, realistic bids.

  • Thinking along about the further development and digitalization of the estimation process.
