There are also opportunities within Bidfood to further develop yourself in your role as a leader.
You ensure that IT operations are rock solid. At Bidfood in Ede, you will lead a strong team and bring structure to an environment that operates 24/7. You ensure that it is clear what needs to be done, monitor continuity, and ensure that IT grows along with the organization. For this, we are not looking for the most experienced IT Manager on the market. Much more important is that you quickly understand what is happening, ask follow-up questions, make connections, and provide direction independently. You have experience within IT Operations to understand the technology and dependencies, but you do not need to be a specialist yourself.
You will join a team that is running well, but still relies on personal knowledge and pragmatism. You will bring more structure, without taking the speed out of it. You will manage the service desk and system engineers, maintain an overview, and ensure that people know what is expected of them.
You manage a team of approximately 10 colleagues and determine priorities in backlog, capacity, and planning.
You monitor the continuity of an IT environment that has a direct impact on deliveries.
You take charge during incidents, standby shifts, and escalations.
You monitor the balance between projects and maintenance and make choices regarding what is taken on.
You manage suppliers and intervene if agreements are not met.
You work on the further professionalization of the IT landscape, such as cloud and security (including NIS2)
You ensure that processes become clearer and less dependent on individuals.
You bring the team along in changes, stimulate ownership, come up with concrete proposals for improvement yourself, and ensure that improvements are actually implemented.
You will be working at Bidfood in Ede. The leading online catering wholesaler in the Netherlands, with about 25,000 customers and 18 locations. What is ordered today must be delivered tomorrow. That means everything must always work. Logistics runs 24/7, and IT is crucial in that. You will work in an environment with more than 1,300 workstations, multiple locations, and systems that continuously process large volumes. An average day at Bidfood is comparable in terms of IT load to peak moments such as Black Friday in e-commerce. Only, here it is not a peak, but the standard. Within IT, you will join a team of about 10 colleagues: service desk and system engineers. A direct, vocal, and experienced group that goes through fire for one another. Within the engineering team, responsibilities are becoming increasingly clearly divided, and experienced engineers are receiving more coordinating roles. At the same time, much knowledge is still held in heads and the way of working is partly pragmatic. You will help to bring more structure and clarity, without losing the mentality of the team.
You do not settle for the first answer, but ask follow-up questions until the context is clear. Once that is clear, you dare to make a decision and pick up the pace. As manager of the department, you ensure calm and structure. You do this during incidents, projects, and daily management.
You have at least an HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level to oversee the complexity of the field.
You have experience managing IT teams within a 24/7 organization and have become acquainted with the standards that fit a corporate environment.
You have sufficient knowledge of IT Operations to understand connections and dependencies, in order to provide substantive leadership to a technically strong team of IT infrastructure specialists.
You are able to bring an experienced and vocal team along, offer clarity, stimulate ownership, and provide pushback where necessary.
You ask follow-up questions, want to understand the context and risks, and subsequently form your own judgment. In this way, you challenge current standards and optimize them.
You communicate fluently in Dutch and English.
Have you become enthusiastic? We would love to receive your interest no later than September 25, 2026. Bidfood is supported in this by Ton den Hertog from Aatop ICT. A selection of the best-matching candidates will be introduced to Bidfood. Please contact Ton via t.denhertog@aatop.nl.
